I think that users themselves should have the option.

 

To delete their own accounts, of course.

You want to delete your account? Not sure what happens with posts and stuff when someone tries that. Like, if someone doesn't want to be a member anymore, they could just stop logging in and stuff.

Well, it wouldn't have to do anything permanent. It could put an emblem on the left saying they aren't active any more, and if they want to pick it back up, they could.

Usually the posts stay and there is no link to their profile anymore (which doesnt exist anymore), maybe the nymes by the posts will even say "Guest" or "Deleted". I never used MyBB though, so just make a test account and find out what happens?

I think it's a good idea to allow account deletion. There are many people who want anything about them removed on a website, like the e-mail address they registered with.
