Charlotte June 1, 2012 Share June 1, 2012 I made a gay name for it So, here's this deal. I'm a gigantic procrastinator and hate doing things. So for a while I didn't really force all that much (or at all) mainly because I didn't really know how to go about doing it. So for weeks I thought about my tulpa like traits and form and all that, even talked to her here and there. But it never felt "offical", like this was all setting up the scene but she wasn't "real" yet. So, tonight, I decided to finally man the fuck up and just force. Just a bit, just to get it out of the way, just to make it "official". I only did it for a couple minutes, just told her she was real, felt like I was actually talking directly to her and not just her "soon-to-be self" and told her more about her personality. I got a pounding headache after which I wasn't expecting at all and felt more connected to her than ever. I believe it was this pre-planning that helped me get to know her before I decided she was even a thing, aka "charging", in which it all just came out at once to form a strong presence. So what do you all think? Think it's a thing? It felt really helpful and go rid of any doubt I had, so it might be a good motivator method. This hot empty painting should be locked and towed. Charlotte June 1, 2012 Author Share June 1, 2012 >procrastination is good I can get behind that! Yep! Which is why I think this may be a legit thing. It seems like it clicks with a lot of tulpamancers. This hot empty painting should be locked and towed.
Bluesleeve June 1, 2012 Share June 1, 2012 No, procrastination isn't good, but I believe you are right that pre-planning is a very important stage. You can leave it aside (as Irish) or figure out the character beforehand. I believe the latter is the optimal choice. During all these weeks you have been revising and reflected on the personality so much, that the tulpa's personality blueprint had been engraved into your unconscious. After your first "official attempt" you could have activated this blueprint and actually started to build the "conscious" personality. We definitely should investigate how much pre-planning is influencing the actual process. What is a Tulpa? Blog Rainbow 'Alyx' Dash Pronto
Guest June 1, 2012 Share June 1, 2012 Maybe it's more caused by the fact that you told her that she's real, and you deeply believed in that.
Charlotte June 1, 2012 Author Share June 1, 2012 Maybe it's more caused by the fact that you told her that she's real, and you deeply believed in that. Nah, I've tulpaforced before on two failed attempts, but those I went into immedatly. While I did get slight headaches from the second one, this one felt like way more of a rush. And yeah Bluesleeve, that was my point. Maybe we can get some new users to try it and see if it works for other people. This did make me believe that it could help a lot of people out though. But I'll have to actually finish my tulpa to see. This hot empty painting should be locked and towed.
Bluesleeve June 1, 2012 Share June 1, 2012 Maybe it's more caused by the fact that you told her that she's real, and you deeply believed in that. It is also likely, that both pre-planning and "telling her she's real" made a huge impact. I assumed that pre-planning was so effective, because writers and painters experience similar occurrences. Wireless June 1, 2012 Share June 1, 2012 I've been treating her as if she was already here for a long time. Helps a lot with concentration and to get relaxed, don't want to do stuff while uncomfortable. Also hell yeah, pre-planning, I wake up in the morning and have a plan for the whole day, including all sessions and things I could possibly narrate. http://wirelesslog.tumblr.com/ - My tulpa blog, updates regularly. Chupi June 2, 2012 Share June 2, 2012 I got a good deal of benefit from a pre-planning phase before I started forcing as well. I spent about 3 weeks trying in vain to improve my visualization skills before starting in anyway. During that time, I thought a good deal about what I wanted her form and personality to be. In writing out her personality sheet, I thought of her as new, but most of the traits I picked felt really obvious, like I already knew her a while. Guest June 2, 2012 Share June 2, 2012 The weeks you've been thinking about the personality of your tulpa have been akin to what we have called tulpa-forcing. Also I agree with what Bluesleeve said, it sounds akin to what some writers have gone through where some form of tulpa is inadvertently created through deep thinking about a character. Though vocalization and visualization (even more so) will require tulpa-forcing, it should be easier now that you seem to feel the presences of a tulpa, an all at once method seems to be more difficult for some of us.
