bud April 14, 2018 Share April 14, 2018 Does anyone have a tulpa based on a real person? Some of mine are and they tend to come to me with absolutely no effort, though I can't get rid of them regardless of the effort I put in.
Tasio April 14, 2018 Share April 14, 2018 The closest we have is that Apollo's form was based off Paul McCartney, and me and Piano roughly look like him also. But we don't consider ourselves "factives" because we do not identify as him whatsoever and feel no connection to him, we just look like him to varying degrees. We've never even heard the word factive until we looked on the tulpa.io glossary. Frankly, we think it's immoral to make a tulpa to identify as someone they're not. It's much better to allow a tulpa to grow and be themselves rather than someone else.

HenHenry April 14, 2018 Share April 14, 2018 Indeed, I am a factive! I'd never heard the word before today, but I suppose it makes a lot of sense. Of course, I don't identify as that person, I just copied their physical traits, particularly their voice. The name is Henry, I would've used it as a username when I signed up but it was taken. Somehow the... interesting idea of repeating the first syllable popped into my head, and now my username is HenHenry. Now you know my life story. dragon cake May 1, 2018 Share May 1, 2018 Because they're based on an artist I like and now I can't read anything by that artist without feeling awkward That would be a pretty terrible thing to do. Could you ask them to change their form or even name? My tulpa Kyoko started out as a completely different species with a different name, but she didn't like the character she'd been based on so asked to be another. Maybe you could discuss deviations with yours or ask if there's something else they'd like to be.
KarlYoshimura May 3, 2018 Share May 3, 2018 Would it be too much to ask said tulpas why they chose such forms or perhaps investigate the originating conditions of such "factives"? It's not unheard of for a host to recreate appearances and traits of established personalities both material and fictional in their tulpas. Upon the other hand, is it also far-fetched if nascent tulpas are to identify with or embody forms and distinct characteristics uniquely imprinted into our consciousness? I realise it can be difficult to separate these entities from the genuine articles, yet I do not think this kind of chafing warrants a tulpa's dissolution. Divergence from our initial expectations is natural in tulpas, as they are self-determinative entities like ourselves. For all we know, taking on the image and disposition of someone whose work you enjoy could be the simple beginnings of an otherwise rich and organic growth of an individual. I've seen good people bleed And I thought I'd seen it all But my own two eyes would prove me wrong that day. There are things that I've done Only seen by the sun And those things will be buried in my grave.
TheGreenQueen May 8, 2018 Share May 8, 2018 There is a mention of factives in a book published in the 1930s in this thread: https://community.tulpa.info/thread-synchonicty-tulpas-and-books?pid=202401#pid202401 Woodwindwhistler on www.asexuality.org The hardest arithmetic to master is that which enables us to count our blessings. -Eric Hoffer "We can never achieve perfection, but maybe we can approach it asymptotically. aheny62 May 8, 2018 Share May 8, 2018 Because they're based on an artist I like and now I can't read anything by that artist without feeling awkward That... doesn't necessarily seem like the most convincing reason to "get rid of" a tulpa...
