How long did it take you to make your first tulpa?

Hey, I just joined the site and I just recently became familiar with tulpas and what they are. I find all of this extremely fascinating and I'm ecstatic to have my own tulpa! I was starting on my tulpa today while on lunch at work today, giving it an appearance and a core personality.

I was only a few minutes into my meditation, and all of a sudden I feel this strange sensation in my head and I flinched, I opened my eyes and made an involuntary chuckle followed by goosebumps and it kind of spooked me. Does this sound like something that could be associated with creating my tulpa? I find it kind of hard to believe that it would, given I haven't spent much time on the actual creation itself.

How long did it take you to make your tulpa? What kind of reactions or feelings should I expect? Is there an average amount of time it takes? I realize this entire process is completely subjective and is different for everybody, Im just asking for general ideas, thanks!

It seems unlikely that it would have anything to do with your tulpa. A lot of people report this kind of thing happening to them immediately, and it probably has to do with the amount of mental concentration they're putting in on their first go, which would make since if they don't have much experience with this kind of thing. And even if it was related to your tulpa, no-one could say for sure because we can't speak for what goes on in your head.

Response times vary from person to person - it could take weeks, months, or years - but it really doesn't matter how long it takes. If you're dedicated and willing to put the time in, then it's more about the journey than the end product. If you do some reading and search for similar threads, since your questions have been asked many times before, and read through some of the progress reports, you might get an idea of what to expect, but don't sweat it if you don't experience some or any of the same things as everyone's experience is different.

Thanks for the reply! That explanation makes a bit more sense lol. Also I apologize for asking an overly common question, I'll do some looking around the site before making future posts! :)

When I made my first Tulpa it felt really awkward and I pressed on because some how it had helped with my depression. I began with something that I was familiar with. I began with the book Eragon by Christopher Polini and based my first Tulpa off Eragons dragon. I really did not want a complete copy and I wanted it to be original. SeriaFathorn agrees with me when I say this, but start with writing everything down. A character sheet can help with this, but keep in mind that it will not be set in stone. Character sheets in my opinion are a score board. They keep track of change. Start a new sheet when things change.

.

When I began I had to pretend she was there, but over time it became normal for her to be there on her own. Even to this day she pops in when she wants and if I get really anxious/depressed. My other Tulpas created themselves one way or another. I can't say that my way is the only way or the perfect way. Everyone is different and the best process is to learn how you work because without that it gets really difficult.

we're a system without much innate ability. it took us about two weeks for our first tulpa to become sentient, and about 6 months after that for her to become vocal.

I definitely wouldn't rule out it being your tulpa, I started working on L two days ago, got headpressures yesterday, she got vocal today. But also keep in mind that you definitely shouldn't expect something like us, though! We're still baffled by how fast that went.
