FredMundy June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 At the moment I'm not completely convinced by Tulpae. When I have free time however, I could give it a complete shot. I just finished my AS Psychology syllabus, and I really dislike the concept of Freud and the Oedipus complex; however, if somebody actually has a Tulpa that can be used as a tool to delve into the person's subconscious, then they could ask about it, as sickening as a thought it is... Anybody willing to help?

Anybody willing to help? I'll write this down and get back to you as soon as my tulpa is complete. As horrified of the answer as I am, I believe it's time somebody asks this. I believe it's something we have to do. **EDIT: If somebody else wants to take the bullet, though, please, for the love of God, go ahead. I'll also go ahead an ask the tulpa about anima and animus, which I am fond of.
Guest June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 I think TOG (ThatOneGuy) can help you; he's done quite some experiments with his subconscious already.
glitchthe3rd June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 It's definitely a strong possibility that a tulpa can match up with your anima/animus if left unchecked (which is what happened with Luna). So I'd imagine that if one had an oedipus complex, they could use a tulpa to somehow fulfill that. I mean, we're talking about a sapient being that can go into your subconscious and alter things directly, so anything is possible. Chupi June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 if somebody actually has a Tulpa that can be used as a tool to delve into the person's subconscious, then they could ask about it, as sickening as a thought it is... From what I've heard from many people who have them, a tulpa can explore the subconscious and tell you about it. And if Vinyl&Jake is to be believed (and Pleeb is pretty convinced he is), a tulpa can even plant or change things in the subconscious, and potentially even modify your personality some. I don't see what's sickening about it, though it could be dangerous if your tulpa and you don't have absolute trust. That's complete bullshit, everything listed there is just an exaggerated form of what anybody you talk to can do. While a tulpa has access to your sub-c, such as viewing your memories, it shouldn't be able to modify it anymore than your best friend could with a little bit of practice. Why shouldn't it be able to? What Vinyl&Jake (as well as TOG) described was more like hypnosis, which is known to be able to plant things in the subconscious. I'm not saying they can just crawl in there and do things without you knowing, or wanting them to. ThatOneGuy June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 No, they can't force things. And yes Phi, you are right; I could teach someone to do these things. But it just seems that tulpae have an incredibly easy time with it. In any case, I'll do some research on this Oedipus Complex, and get back to you on it. Oh, that's what it is. Well I knew about that but I didn't know what it was called. In any case, more research is being done. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches. Then sure, but I said that tulpa can't do anything that your best friend couldn't do, and your best friend could hypnotize you. Going in and changing personality and memories makes it sound like they can just re-wire you whenever they want, which is bullshit. If they could, I see no reason why you shouldn't ask your tulpa to get rid of all your bad traits that you don't want, eliminating your shadow. ThatOneGuy June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 To both of you, somethings are just hardwired into the brain and aren't going to be changed. The extent of what exactly is hardwired is debatable, though I doubt negative traits could be removed. Basically, there is a limit and you are both correct in a sense. Tulpae can't just go around changing whatever they want, but there is still a lot they could change. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.
