Guest May 28, 2012 Share May 28, 2012 I know what you're going to say. "Everyone is different". Give me an average estimate. What should I be feeling?
Charlotte May 28, 2012 Share May 28, 2012 8 hours is nothing. Try 30 hours. Though really you shouldn't be so impatent and just accept that it takes it's time. This hot empty painting should be locked and towed.

Phi May 28, 2012 Share May 28, 2012 If you're taking FAQ's route, you should be well along your way with personality. FAQ himself did I think 15-16 hours? You should be about half way, give or take, depending on you.

You should be about half way, give or take, depending on you. That being said, there's no real indicator. You just have to decide at some point to start visualizing. Eventually you will start to feel a presence, but at 8 hours sentience is a far off goal. DID YA MISS ME? Chupi May 28, 2012 Share May 28, 2012 At 8 hours, you should probably still be on personality unless you're going by Irish's no-personality method, or you're a tulpa prodigy. Around 8 hours I was starting to "feel" and really care about my tulpa as a person. G|d30n May 28, 2012 Share May 28, 2012 At about 8 hours I had the basic framework for each trait, before doing review work, expanding more thoroughly, and allowing for deviations. Also, I technically had my first headache then, but as I detailed in another thread, I didn't attribute that to forcing but instead to much more mundane circumstances. Really though, it depends on how productive your forcing has been, how much personality work you plan to do, and how you feel about your progress so far. If you were going to do 10 hours of personality work and you feel good about your progress, you're almost done. If you plan to do 30 hours and haven't worked everything out yet, you still have a ways to go but you can call this a small milestone. Progess on my tulpa, Lauren. Guest May 28, 2012 Share May 28, 2012 About four-five hours in, I began to receive emotional surges from my tulpa. They're coming at an increasing pace and strength. As of writing this, I'm 12:35 hours in. Still at personality, of course. I'm using my own method, by the way. It's basically Dane's way, but I pick a few main traits and focus on them for hours on end instead of spending little time on a horde of traits, and I mix talking and imagining the emotion instead of purely just talking or just thinking like some others do. It may or may not be more effective, but I'm sure getting at this fast, so I guess it's pretty good.

I don't actually visualize the tulpa having the emotions, because I'm worried about imagining her doing things on her own prior to sentience, but instead I just kind of imagine what the trait means on an emotional level in general--how creativity feels to the creator and to the audience, how it feels to complete a goal, etc. I think the hybrid approach is effective though. I felt something that I didn't quite call an emotional response but more like "a funny feeling" around 12 hours and last night between 14 and 15 hours I felt a very vivid surge of emotion. tulpatalk May 29, 2012 Share May 29, 2012 You two said things to the effect that emotions are linked to traits. Could you explain how you used emotions during personality? [Note: Opinions]
