Is there a way to filter selected subforums from the View Today's Posts page?

These days, half the discussion goes on in Lounge. But I've thought the same thing about Forum Games.

Not as far as I know, unfortunately.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

Quick answer: Bookmark one of these:

- Forum Games and Lounge posts in the past day

- Or do you want the past 2 days of them?

Long answer for anyone wanting to make their own bookmarks:

Documentation is lacking, but looking at the source of search.php, you're in luck, though you'll have to write your own URL, which you can then bookmark. As you might already know, URLs can have parameters at the end, of the form .../page.php?param1=value1&param2=value2&param3=value3....

Note that search.php?action=getdaily quickly redirects to a URL with action=results and an SID parameter. You'll either have to bookmark it quick before it redirects you, or create a bookmark and then edit the parameters you want into its URL.

First, you'll need to find the Forum ID (fid) of the board(s) you want to list posts for. To discover valid fid values, go to the search page and view the HTML source for the "Search in Forum(s)" list. It's roughly halfway down. (In most browsers view source is Ctrl+U, or Cmd+U on Mac.) You'll find things like "     Lounge", which says the fid for the lounge is 41. You can ignore the ones that are categories like "Guides" (34).

Alternately, here's a list of all user-viewable fids as of when I made this post. I've omitted the fids for the categories themselves since they don't have any threads directly inside them and therefore return no results. If you want everything in a category, list those boards individually.

Then construct a URL. It will start with https://community.tulpa.info/search.php?action=getdaily and add one or more of the following in the usual &param=value format. The getdaily action takes the following parameters:

You can also of course combine fid/fids and days to get multiple days worth of posts from specified forums. Fid/fids can also be used with action=getnew for posts you haven't read yet.

Oh, I meant that I wanted to filter out those subforums, as in have just those particular forums not appear in the page, but you went way above and beyond describing the behavior of it. Thanks

Yup, there's no shortcut way to do that. Just list all the fids that aren't Lounge or Forum Games.

On a similar topic, what exactly is the difference between getnew and getdaily? Getdaily is easier to tell, since it's just every thread that has had a post in the past 24 hours, but I'm not sure what the parameters for getnew are exactly.

Getnew does the same as getdaily, but instead of 24h or a multiple of it, it uses the time since your last visit. You can use the same fid or fids parameters with it to control what boards you'll see posts from.

Note that time since last visit is not entirely accurate, since the server doesn't know when you stopped looking at a page or closed your browser. It just knows when you last loaded a page.
