New GAT Nominations
This is how you nominate a member to be a GAT:

- Make a post in this thread saying who you want to nominate, and give a valid reason for it as well. Nominations with no reasons aren't counted.
- You can not nominate forum mods or admins, but you can nominate IRC mods/janitors.
- Make sure to read the current list of GATs so you don't nominate who's already in it.
- Please try nominating members who you think are fitting for the job as opposed to people you like/consider reasonable/smart. Just because someone is intelligent doesn't mean they qualify to be a GAT.
- Don't nominate people who are already nominated. It does nothing.
- GATs are allowed to nominate members as well. Their nominations count like any nomination, and have to follow these guidelines as well.

Once someone's made a nomination, it'll be left for a few days (I'll say 3) for people to object, after which without valid objections I'll make a new thread in this subforum with an open poll that anyone in the community can vote yes/no on, and perhaps discussion in the thread itself. Once a week has passed, the majority decides.

The above protocol is up for discussion, I've put it in here as the default for now since it's pretty generic.

Edit: I'll extend the leaving period for a day or two and I'll group all the votes together, since we have so many.

Quilten
Quora
sushi
Dog
swashy
fennecgirl
Kronkleberry

I will start this off by nominating Glass because I like the way she can give good advice without being cold about it, nor so friendly that the core point gets lost among pretty words. That, and the fact she's one of the older tulpas in the community and therefore is likely to know a thing or two about this concept tells me she would make for a good GAT. I asked her about her inactivity on the forums and she said she'd be on here more often if she had a good reason to.

If anybody disagrees with my reason, feel free to make a post saying why. Until then, I'll count it as a valid reason.

My vote is keep the current team for now and add more people if needed in the future. Right now we need to get some goddamn guides approved and it has taken too long already.

I nominate Josh

Edit: I think Josh would be a good gat because he clearly has a lot of experience making tulpas and has been in the community long enough to tell a good method from a bad one.

Thunder please read the damn OP first before posting.

Sands, I understand what you mean but the GAT needs to have a certain amount of individuals in it to prevent circlejerky approvals. Not saying that that will be the case here, but it's why I set a minimum amount of members when making it. With the 12 GATs we have currently, you'd only need 7 GATs to approve of something, whereas with 15 GATs you'd need 9. This would ensure that the approved guides are actually suitable for approval once they've been approved. Remember, it's not about speed or quantity, but primarily about quality. If the current GATs already keep all guides who should be approved ready for approval once the new GATs are in, then there will be little to no problem speed-wise.

RE: New GAT Nominations
Except the longer our approved guides section only has one guide which was approved with not enough members anyways, the worse it makes this entire system look and it gives a really wrong image to the new people who come in now to read guides.

RE: New GAT Nominations
Then how about we let the community decide on the new GATs while picking new Managers and approving of guides?

Also, ThunderClap, to elaborate more - Josh probably has input on Glass' gatting. Making both a host and tupper GATs is kinda moot, also since people could just approve of a guide twice if they wanted to. Now, I'm not discriminating, if you want to nominate both of them go for it - but regardless, you gotta give a good reason (a.k.a. a worded reason that goes beyond "i like this person") to be able to nominate someone.

RE: New GAT Nominations
I'd say every time I've talked to Josh and Glass, Josh has been the one wording himself better. So I'd like to see him being the one writing things, but like you said, they both can be a part of it. Just would prefer the other one forming the words over your choice. But I'm not actually voting for anyone and saying my own reasons why I'd prefer Josh.

RE: New GAT Nominations
No reason to let the community decide we need more people. It's common knowledge that with more people comes more opportunities for slowdowns. People have other things to do, and with more GAT members will come more slowness. We have enough people for now, let's focus on getting guides up, then if we find the workload to be too much, we can add more people as required. So far, this number of people has worked fine.

RE: New GAT Nominations
I think the already slow approval process will be made even slower if we add more people, however if we do go with that, I'll nominate lemonlemon (this also includes his tulpa). Reason: experienced old member with fully developed tulpas who managed to achieve most goals most people strive for (independence, imposition, unassisted posession and switching) - has a good mindset, a lot of personal experience and would likely be able to evaluate guides fairly.

RE: New GAT Nominations
Huh, Niichan removed his vote I guess.

And Glass, I have spoken to you more than I have spoken to Josh. Well, at least been a part of more conversations where you have been a part of as well. I have seen you talk more than him, too. That's why I told him to talk more ages ago, because the little I saw of him, I liked a lot. And he didn't turn annoying when he spoke, actually only started to look more and more like a cool guy. I still think he words himself much better than you and think he would make for the better speaker for the GAT.
