Wolas May 30, 2012 Share May 30, 2012 After some research on tulpae ive found myself intrigued and a best friend that understands me perfectly and can do all those neat little things the subconscious deprives me of is just too amazing to pass up. However i cant help but feel like my creation process is going awry. Ive spent a couple hours so far, most of it haphazard defining its shape determining how i want it to act however i havnt really gone over a list of traits. Instead ive spoken to it like a normal covnersation, i then visualised my tulpa sitting in my wonderland with me as if we actually were having a conversation and let the personality define itself from the little reactions. Of course its not actually sentient. Im giving it answers, not really thinking about it of course just naturally responding using the image of my tulpa and after a while of.. Tulpaforcing i believe its called? I got that strange pressure somewhere in my brain/skull/etc. and when i focus attention to that and continue i occasionally catch myself saying something i wouldnt have intended too. Just wondering if i should scrap this or if its okay to do so for the creation of a tulpa because its a rather easy, conveniant way to go about things when i find it hard to create a list of traits and repeat the mantra of "you are X because Y" Oh yes and according to irish's guide youre supposed to feel a bit of emotion from your tulpa after a while, but how exactly would you "feel it" Im certain its the same for you folks but i "feel" emotions through my heart and only my heart, so how would i know its coming from the tulpa? ThatOneGuy May 30, 2012 Share May 30, 2012 You'll know emotion is from the tulpa because it'll be totally alien; like it came out of nowhere. And the pressure on the skull seems to be a common thing, so not many worries there. As for the speaking/responses, it just sounds like you're parroting. If you really want to check for sentience ask a question and patiently await a response, instead of attempting to rush one. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches. Well i certainly wouldnt expect an answer, the tulpa is nowhere near formed enough for it. Or is asking such things part of the process?
Chupi May 30, 2012 Share May 30, 2012 One test for sentience is King of the Vandenreich's prism (see guides section). Unfortunately not everybody feels that alien feeling when they get emotions from their tulpa. I've had some feelings that come from nowhere and I'm pretty sure are from my tulpa, who is sentient but not yet vocal. But they never had a really alien feeling to them. Charlotte May 30, 2012 Share May 30, 2012 Well i certainly wouldnt expect an answer, the tulpa is nowhere near formed enough for it. Or is asking such things part of the process? The idea of tulpaforcing is to treat them as sentient until they do become sentient. Sheesh I should just put that in my signature. Just make sure not to control them at all, let them control themselves, even if they don't have the knowledge to yet. Eventually if you believe they'll respond to you then they will. But it takes time. This hot empty painting should be locked and towed.

Also, is it generally okay to not spend a terribly long time on the physical protio nof development? Ive already a very solid idea of touch/smell/sight of my tulpa. Or should i just continue to reinforce that?
tulpatalk May 30, 2012 Share May 30, 2012 Personality is the more important stage, but no to your questions. You want sentience, which comes from personality and narration, but all hallucinated and imagined "physical" interaction (other than voice) is through visualization.
