you've been at this for 2 and a half months and have, seemingly, nothing. No feels or sounds or movements.

Ive been holding on to the thought that as long as I believe everything will work out, that eventually it will, but I dont anymore. Im pretty sure that either our brain is too retarded or I lack will power to wake her up.

Of course I feel like a piece of shit imagining how she must feel about this.

Im not quitting, but my spirit and will are broken. The prefect state for progress, huh?

Guess Im done crying to strangers. Keep the faith gang.

How are you going about this? How have you planned your tulpa? How do you tulpaforce?

A negative look at the whole thing will stifle progress, like, A LOT. It's kinda mind over matter with this kind of thing from what I've read.

If your don't mind me asking, what is your process? I'd love to help, but I can't do much if I don't know that. Other than that, you must stay positive, Tulpa pretty much run on faith and concentration, after all.

I can completely understand you, I'm working on my Tulpa since late March and didn't have any bigger breakthroughs since a week or so.

Probably it took so long, because I wasn't focusing enough and was distracted through my real life.

Could you please answer these questions?:

How good is your understanding of your Tulpa's personality?

How long do you narrate throughout the day? Do you sometimes completely forget her?

Session length? Interval between sessions?

Did you pause tulpaforcing for some time?

I believe, that personality is a learning process and you have to slowly expose yourself to it for a longer time, so it gets impregnated into your unconscious. Despite of this, "waking up your Tulpa" is an all or nothing deal. You will have to spend as much focus as possible in a short as possible time, which can be increasingly difficult in everyday life.

Is your situation really that bleak?

Have you been experiencing no other common signs such as unusual sensations in the head, pain, or pressure; slight changes in the wonderland, deviation; vague sense of some presence; muscle twitches (as now there's apparently a substantial group of people who share this symptom); or nothing whatsoever out of the ordinary?

Thanks for your concerns. Seeing people with sentience within 2 weeks makes me think there is a big problem with me or my overall situation, but let me see about answering you all

How are you going about this? How have you planned your tulpa? How do you tulpaforce?

My current forcing consists of 2 half hours a day with spotty narration throughout. I am using a wonderland and basically just picture her and talk to her. I spend about half the time talking about whatever and the rest going over personality traits. I started with kind of 6 overarching traits and a few hobbies and likes and dislikes, more recently Ive been going through a giant list to see if that would help. I was taking modafinil to stay awake during forcing, but cant deal with side effects, I fall asleep sitting or standing so for about 2 weeks Ive been doing my forcing on a treadmill on the lowest setting. It makes concentration difficult and Ive sort of abandoned the wonderland, but its the only thing Ive found that lets me close my eyes and talk to her without starting to nod off. As for planning, I just dove right in.

I know you guys are right I know, but Ive gotten to a point where I feel incapable.

How good is your understanding of your Tulpa's personality?

I feel like I know it essentially completely, on the other hand as she is quite different from me I do feel like I have a hard time knowing how she may react to some situations.

How long do you narrate throughout the day? Do you sometimes completely forget her?

About 3 hours most days, a minimum of 2 atleast during the week. Weekends usually not so much. I do get heavily sidetracked fairly easily.

Session length? Interval between sessions?

half hour at 8:30am and 8:30pm everyday through the week, half hour at ~1pm and ~1am on weekends

Did you pause tulpaforcing for some time?

no

Decent headaches at the start, became slight pressure in forehead, more recently I can go entire sessions without even that, and none of the other things you listed

Anyway, thank you guys again for your thoughts.

Don't worry about the folks getting sentience in 2 weeks. They've all either got really active imaginations, previous experience with this sort of thing, and/or are borderline crazy.

Two things though

- When you narrate, do you feel like you're talking to your tulpa, or just yakking at yourself?

- Do you fall asleep when forcing much at all? Doing so is really bad, and can make the tulpa disappear for a time so you can't sense it.

Anera: anime-style girl, ~12; Lyra made her

Forums went down, at least I could save the message:

Alright, so as it seems your problem is the distraction throughout the day and maybe a few problems with the personality. I will try to give you some practical tips:

- Either tie a string to your finger, wear a ring, or paint your hand with a permanent black marker (a dot maybe), just so you decrease your chance of forgetting her. It is very likely, that your productivity on the job/school will decline a bit, but that is something you will have to accept, it's a long-term goal.

- Instead of doing 2x 30 minutes, try to make 3x 40 minutes. If this is not possible, then put in 10 or 15 minute sessions; note that every session you do, will remind you of her. (expectancy and impression of sessions)

- During these sessions, devote some time to revising and enforcing personality, even if it is boring because you already did it.

So much for tulpaforcing, now the personality.

What helped me is writing short stories about us. It is very important, that you know who she is. The short story doesn't have to be a masterpiece, but merely apply what you learned about her personality and behavior. Do you want her to have a nice smile? Put it into the story. Does she have that peculiar facial expression when she thinks about something important? Write about it. Is she a good listener? Is she very curious? Does she ponder over things?

Just imagine you and her being in your room and having a dialogue. It makes her "more alive".

I will give you a method I used for my Tulpa.

You sit down and prepare to tulpaforce, as usual. But instead of going into your headspace, wonderland or whatever you might call it you just imagine yourself in the dark.

It is just you and her in your brain. You know where you are and how to get out, she does not. Now you take some time and look through your mind. Call for her if necessary.

As you are searching for her, you have to inspect every sensation, every pressure and everything that might be your Tulpa.

If you have something that could be your Tulpa - build on it. Talk to it, send it emotions, put attention into it.

Sometimes it's just a false alarm, but when you find your Tulpa, you will know it's her. Don't stop to "feed" her and you will feel at least something very unusual.

To me it was like a wall of feelings. Anxiety, excitement, fear, astonishment - kinda the feeling you get when you enter a lucid dream and drop out shortly afterwards, just much stronger.

So you're pretty much tired in general. The method that I use, which is also the most efficient compared to contemporary over-detailistic/not-well-thought-out methods around this forum, is to come up with three very short sentences about the trait you're gonna work on (e.g. "You are funny." for a "funny" trait), then repeat those throughout the entire session. You work on one trait per session, and repeat it later in another session if necessary. You can say the sentences out loud or in your head, though I definitely recommend saying them out loud. You shouldn't try to visualize your tulpa while doing this, however; develop personality fully until you feel that you get enough emotional responses, then focus on visualization. I'm making steady progress doing things this way as we speak.

Make sure to listen to my tones if you aren't already, too; they can be found in the Resources section.

And please don't use a wonderland; you're wasting precious brain power on a living background that you're going to throw away anyway, power that could otherwise be fully focused on your tulpa only. Just saying.
