Subconsciously doing things

I find that I'm often so buried in my thoughts that when someone talks to me I say something back, but then don't remember what I said and have to recall it. Sometimes I say things that I didn't mean, things like

Grandma: Do you want a cookie?

Me: No...

Me: ...

Me: I mean, yes.

I'm also known to have conversations while I sleep (by known, I mean it's happened a lot) and I don't think anyone's ever been able to tell that I'm sleeping. I don't remember the conversation afterwards.

Sleep is another weird thing for me, I've done some creepy things while I sleep. Like ate at the table with my family. Another time I told them there was a little girl on the edge of my bed. And stood outside my parent's door (many times apparently) and watched them. I don't remember doing any of these things, I've only been told that I did.

Once I set up a camera watching me while I slept. It only lasted 30 minutes before it died, but in the morning I looked at it. At one part it showed me sitting up in bed, looking around the room and seeing the camera, and then falling back asleep.

Most recently my grandma asked me if I wanted eggs, not knowing I was asleep, and I replied "Yes." She was surprised that I hadn't come upstairs. She told me about this but I don't remember it.

Crazy that that is possible, but I guess not crazier than a tulpa possessing while the host is asleep.

But actually, what's... what's the difference? If the person sleepwalking isn't operating their body, who is? Walking is not that complicated, but having a conversation and typing is. It could be Ray possessing me but I sorta doubt it. I'll ask later when his mind voice comes on again.

Every person has a subconscious mind. Though, the better way to think of this is that your state of consciousness has been altered sufficiently that your memory and reason is impaired beyond recognition. But it is still you.

This is a much better explanation for sleepwalking. Tulpas doing it is possible, but people with tulpas are less frequent than people who sleep. Also, altered states of consciousness fit the evidence better.

yeah I'd call it still "you" but just not paying attention @OP or not being fully awake @Asleep

I feel like this even applies to dreams, there's levels of awareness and when you get real disconnected/unconscious is when the dreams are just totally random/out of your control, or maybe out of what you think your self in the dream would want it to be if you don't consider your unconscious mind you

there's lots of different states of consciousness and in-betweens, I don't think anyone on Tulpa.info can actually explain that crazy neuro-something-logy very well

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal!

Let's talk about WONDERLANDS. How much controlled by the SUBCONSCIOUS are they?

Can you simulate a RUBIX CUBE, a CHESS GAME, or a CAMERA in your wonderland? Can you write something down and have it still be there when you get back?

I can simulate a [bold]RUBIX CUBE[/bold] **CHESS GAME** and !!CAMERA!! in my mind.

My opinion about the first question is that it falls into a category of questions like how blue is the sky, and what direction is up in space. I imagine the answer would depend on many aspects of your philosophy and beliefs about wonderlands.

The answer to the last question is our mind is terrible at remembering text. So we can't remember squat we wrote down, let alone have it preserved automatically.
