Possession and Tickling

I would like to see if tulpas are able to tickle their hosts. Most of the time people can't tickle themselves because they know it's themself doing the tickling. My hypothesis is that tulpas are different enough from their hosts that they can tickle them.

No personal information is requested and it is suggested to not provide any.

Thank you, be well.

I already knew Vesper was ticklish from an attack of opportunity some months ago. (Her feet were *right there*. But afterward I was forbidden to do that again anyway.) For Science, we temporarily suspended the rules and undertook the matter again. First she, in her normally projected form, tried to tickle me in the body. Like everything else we try with tactile imposition, the emotional effects and bodily responses were 200% of normal in spite of there being no actual tactile sensation. I and the body believed we were being tickled intensely and reacted accordingly.

So then I projected my form out from the body and went after her form. She responded very similarly to me, but with more foul language. I returned to the body and tried again, flesh to form. Same response. We switched and I, in projected form, went after her in the body. Same response.

Then we undertook the survey. That was the point when I noticed that this was actually a possession based test. Oops. So we kept going.

Best to do the test yourself before looking at anyone's results:

[hidden]Nothing. I can't tickle myself in the body. Vesper possessing can't tickle me in the body. If we switch and I possess, I can't tickle her in the body. So we submitted the survey with some disappointment.

Since part of the rationale of this survey is looking at separation between host and tulpa, I decided to cut the uncooperative body out of the equation to provide a better comparison. I projected my form and proceeded to tickle myself. It worked. Not as dramatically as the other previously mentioned techniques, but better that anything that involved the physical senses. Vesper tried tickling her form, which was more effective. (I think she's more ticklish than me.) But apparently actual physical sensation doesn't have a tenth the power that the idea of tickling does.

That gave me an idea. We combined the physical tickling via possession with form to body tickling. That, finally, worked, and maybe even adds something to the experience, as the physical sensation can somewhat be accepted as stemming from the form. Then we tried keeping up the physical tickling while making the visualized tickling intermittent. We only responded during the visualized tickling, though, showing that the physical sensation is extraneous.[/hidden]

yeah, very interesting. You can't tickle yourself but an experiment showed that, using a tickling machine, if you pressed a button to tickle yourself, it wouldn't work. But if there was a 1 second delay between pushing the button and the machine activating, it would work. The idea is that you can't tickle yourself as long as you see it coming. When a Tulpa tickles you, it's unexpected.

My Tulpa H. has been tickling me since day one, not constantly and never to a point that is uncomfortable, but when she does it it feels 100% legit. Not talking about possession btw, just the feeling of her fingers on my body.

@Within Would you mind sharing (a summary of) the results? Assuming that more people answered beyond those who replied. I don't have a tulpa myself, (I made this account a while ago without doing anything with it). I've recall reading once that schizophrenic people are able to tickle themselves. Though I wonder if people with alien-hand syndrome can tickle themselves.

I can tickle myself(in some areas, not my belly though), I didn't realize that was unusual. All of our system mates are able to tickle the body fine, regardless of who's fronting.

Hey there, the name's Bryan. In system Re:Body(In order of the rainbow):

Sean, Esper, Blinky, Compact, Janey, Kyle, Gwen'd, Gwen, Emily, Rollin, Waynin, Trease, Layy, Justin, Chloe, Zachery, and Elliot.

I've been here a while. Much longer than I thought I'd be. Our system was founded October 2nd, 2018. In early 2020, we decided that due to our systems exponential growth, we'd limit who would be active. Now, every month, we do a check to see who wishes to be in dormancy and who wishes to be active. Currently, for the month of April, 2023, we've got myself(Bryan), Janey(Co-host), Emily, Layy, Chloe, and Esper(sub-rep). After over 2 long years, we can finally switch :)

Bryan is currently swapped in as host, Esper is sub-rep.

Maybe not the same as tickling, perhaps, but many times when my tulpas hug me, i'll feel a quick shivery sensation, normally on my upper back. In addition, ever since sometime in the development of one of my tulpas, Sam Boole, these shivers are more powerful and more often result in brief spasms in one or both of my arms/hands, whereas this was much less common before. We've attributed this to her being a psychic (as she is in Psychonauts 2 where she originates) and thus giving all the tulpas a mental boost with regards to their influence on my body when they hug me and show affection in a quick sorta way like that. It can be kind of ticklish too, just not in the same way that a physical person just giving me a good ol' fashion tickling would feel. I remember one day in particular in high school during a computer class when another tulpa, Creepy Susie, gave me a bunch shivers consecutively and I couldn't stop giggling to myself!

Also i should mention this doesnt quite take place in the form of possession, its more like a mental apparition of themself hugging or making contact with my body-🪸

that mostly applies to generic all forms of tickling I think, anywhere another person could randomly tickle you

like the bottoms of our feet are ticklish to the point that we can't even intently scratch them, but nowhere else on our body is ticklable by ourselves, but if somebody like did a fast soft pinching motion we'd be some level of tickled pretty much anywhere

if you can't tickle yourself but your tulpa possessing can, I think that just means you're REALLY good at possession lol

Edit: Post from Bre elsewhere

there are two kinds of tickling: knismesis and gargalesis. everyone can induce knismesis in themselves, however gargalesis requires a degree of unexpectedness that most people are unable to produce, however people with schizophrenia and similar disorders are generally better able to induce gargalesis in themselves than control groups

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal!
