Switching questions

Recommended Posts

Hello tulpamancers, i have a few questions for you (host) and you (tulpa) about switching:

How it is to you, tulpa feel like a tulpa, its just like us, humans, you can walk, and do stuff like we do?

How it is to you, host to switch with your tulpa, what do you feel?

how long can the host be switched with the tulpa?

it is REALLY THAT hard to switch?

you go to the wonderland when you switch to the tulpa-state?

its real like a lucid dream, a dream, or fuzzy, or just real as reality?

thx for you all

By definition, switching feels like being a human to the tulpa exactly, and it feels exactly like being a tulpa to the human. So, ask your tulpa what it feels like to be a tulpa to get your answer.

Switching is not that hard. It is merely something you are very unlikely to accomplish except after years of trying.

A switch can be permanent.

The most comparable immersive experience depends on the person. Lucid dream may be a close approximation, but astral travel is probably closer.

I wouldn't say years of trying. To be honest, it really depends on the person and their own mental blocks more than anything I think. People capable of reasonably managing their doubt through the tulpa development process may or may not learn to switch, but at no point would I say it isn't possible. For plenty of people it might be pretty dang unlikely, and for some it comes.. well, somewhat easily - there are also plural systems who it quite literally comes naturally to, too.

What it feels like is subjective/varies by system. And @Tulpa, while that's the definition I tend to promote, older members have (somehow) had a problem with it in the past. Perhaps because one wouldn't normally know what it's like to be the other unless they'd already learned to switch. But I personally feel like it should give a good idea to most people. So as for my input to that question... yeah, it's like the host is a tulpa and the tulpa's the host. My tulpas couldn't switch for a whole day+ without getting really tired at first, but after that they might as well be the "host" while they're switched, because they could just never switch back and live what was my life on their own. Not talking creepypasta bodystealing here, just physical/mental capability. Lucilyn recently fronted for over a month straight because I was between school and a job for the summer and had nothing better to do with my time than give it to her.

We, PERSONALLY, do not go to the wonderland when switched out - put simply, because my tulpas do not passively live in the wonderland. Three of my tulpas predate tulpa.info, so by chance they grew up without a wonderland at all, simply "living" in the mindspace, ie what I can only describe as where your tulpas are when you talk to them outside the wonderland. It's not much of a "place". We have a wonderland now and have for a while, but they do not live there, and I do not go there when I'm switched out. I'm in the same "tulpa-like state" they are. Some people take issue with that description but it's the best I've got. Generally that means less capacity to think complex thoughts (doing difficult math and the like), and being aware of yet not directly connected to the senses. Same as my tulpas are right now. But, of course, all of this could be different for someone else, and often is. Many tulpas live in the wonderland and many hosts go there when they switch.

I honestly don't usually even answer questions on the subject because it's so subjective. I know people just want a vague guide, but it really just turns into taking someone else's arbitrary subjective experience and beliefs and treating them as something more. More normal, more likely, more logical - whatever. I suggest finding out how it all works for yourself, using one of the guides that run into the same problem of subjectivity. But that's why we have lots of them.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
