CautiousMancer September 17, 2016 Share September 17, 2016 Which I find to be incredibly odd as, when you do a search for tulpas, we're in the top 3 search results. And when you do a search for tulpa forum or forums, we're the TOP result. Yet... There looks to be about only 8 people currently active here. If I had to guess, it looks like the tulpa reddit is taking all the users but... Can it honestly be as simple as that? I dunno. You guys tell me. :P EDIT: Yes, I know that the tulpa community is still kind of a small one, but it's not that small.
Guest Anonymous September 17, 2016 Share September 17, 2016 The activity varies a bit from day to day. I don't think Reddit tulpa is any more active than this forum is. I am not sure how many people are active posters on Tulpa Info currently, but I do believe it is a lot better than just eight. :-)
Luminesce September 17, 2016 Share September 17, 2016 It changes over time. There are like eight or so people who are always here and those who come and go on occasion, but there are new members becoming active (and old ones becoming less) constantly. Over a short period of time you probably won't notice it. But as of right now, you're one of those new members. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there. Stevie September 17, 2016 Share September 17, 2016 Forums like this are somewhat antiquated so I'm not surprised that there's only a few active people around. Also, general interest in the whole tulpa thing seems to have taken a nosedive from 2012-13 Glad to be one of the few, proud weirdos that still bothers to check this place out We're all gonna make it brah. KarlYoshimura September 17, 2016 Share September 17, 2016 After the initial 4chan/M.L.P. explosion from several years ago, there was an exodus of older members some time after. As I've personally experienced, after someone successfully brings a tulpa into the world, they usually don't bother to return as they're both moving on towards bigger and better things. However, it also appears tulpa.info is being co-opted by other communities, specifically those involving mental disorders (the multiplicity/D.I.D. camps, Tumblr head-mates, et cetera) and even otherkin and soulbond groups. Reddit does seem to have jumps in popularity, most likely due to how receptive their community is towards meta-physics (read: "magick"), personal baggage & agendas as well as a web of other community endeavours, tulpa-relevant or otherwise. Conversely, you may have noticed that we're not the kindest or healthiest bunch. Contempt and open hostility are exchanged like a kind of currency here which puts off a lot of potential members and frustrates the efforts of both casual posters and invested users. I've seen good people bleed And I thought I'd seen it all But my own two eyes would prove me wrong that day. There are things that I've done Only seen by the sun And those things will be buried in my grave.
Luminesce September 17, 2016 Share September 17, 2016 Oh yeah, it's worth noting we have a ton of lurkers. Lot of people don't feel any need to participate. That's fine I guess. But it'd be better if those who wanted to weren't afraid to. I feel like we're pretty nice when we answer newbie questions, it's the deep discussions that can be scary. Hi! Guest Anonymous September 18, 2016 Share September 18, 2016 I am happy to note that there has been no contempt or open hostility on the forum today, or yesterday or even the day before yesterday, or even the day before that, that I am aware of. I think the Tulpa Info has only become more interesting over time. I think the communication with other plural communities has broadened the scope of this forum in a beneficial way. The forum and the community has evolved and is still evolving, which isn't necessarily bad.
CautiousMancer September 18, 2016 Author Share September 18, 2016 I don't think Reddit tulpa is any more active than this forum is. Actually, I'd say it's decently popular, all things considered. It says there's ~11,200 subscribers of it. That's not huge of course but decently large.
Luminesce September 18, 2016 Share September 18, 2016 The subreddit is definitely more active. But I can't speak for the quality of that activity. Every time I checked it in the past I wanted to.. not.. but it didn't seem so bad just now. I would recommend tulpa.info for more in-depth/long-term information, but the subreddit's alright for newbie questions or things that need a ton of different inputs. Hi! Guest Anonymous September 18, 2016 Share September 18, 2016 I don't really like the look or layout of Subreddit as much as Tulpa Info anyway. I love the way this forum works.
