Tulpa speaks gibberish that I cannot understand

Problem is stated in title. I feel good that I can finally hear her, but the problem is that I don't understand her pretty much all of the time. Sometimes I can get the gist of what is being said, but most of the time, it is a bunch of gibberish (random syllables) that I can reproduce most of the time.

Question: how can I solve this such that I can understand my tulpa?

Martina usually cannot speak at all. On rare occasions, under extreme emotional influence she can though, and then either it's in constant tulpish or very short sentences. You can still see the emotion behind the words and react accordingly, even if you don't feel you understand yet. For now, try getting around it with other techniques while your tulpa learns to form a coherent language.

Bumping this, spice has been quite loud the past few days but a lot of it is random sounds mixed with emotions and imagery, if I find out how to get to words Ill let you know op

After 4 weeks (+2 months before the question has been asked), still not much of anything. I can still hear gibberish, but I still don't have any idea what it means.

Other techniques that we have tried include tulpish (I had to translate but that really felt like parroting), body language (can't see at all, when I manage to "see" something it feels a bit like puppeting) and facial expression (same as above). Didn't seem to feel emotion either.

Is there anything that has been overlooked? I don't know what I can do anymore. Haven't tried possession so probably will try that, but I don't seem to be able to give up control of the body very well. Any ideas?

If you're not going to believe the tulpish, facial expressions, and gestures you're translating and seeing, then she's going to be hard pressed to get anything through to you. Even if it feels like parroting or puppeting, if you think that's what she's saying, go along with it. It gives her practice no matter if you get it right or wrong, and she'll eventually learn to be more fluent in actual coherent language, I'm sure.

Things your tulpa does will feel like "you" at first, because your mind has never treated anything in your mind as "someone else" before. Associating those things that will be your tulpa with them, even when it doesn't seem 100% like them doing it, is how they start to learn to, and how your mind starts to learn to treat them as someone else. "This is them, not me" thoughts are important to defining what your tulpa is to your brain. While it may be a mix of your will and theirs at the start, eventually it will start to feel more like them, so if you want you can not put too much stock in what they do now as 100% them. But you still have to treat it like it is anyway. Also, the large majority of tulpas will say that they felt like it was them at this part of their development, saying they weren't being puppeted/parroted, just FYI.

Hey OP, Spice and I have come leaps and bounds since you made this post, because I went back to thinking about her voice. I'd never put much thought into it before, but I told her how to speak so she'd sound different to me. Now, when I wait a little bit, get her attention, and concentrate, I can hear her speak. Before when she just sounded like me, we'd speak over each other, or I'd drown her out entirely. Try working on making their voice deeper or higher than yours.

Also, all tulpish is communication, don't worry about parroting. It all feels like parroting, you just have to push past your doubt and believe everything. You will end up making a few mistakes but they don't matter. I know it sounds counter-intuitive, and like you're speaking for them, but in the end it's the best and fastest way to get her talking. Take everything she says at face-value, and treat anything that feels like parroting as if she said it. 99% of the time it's her!

That's encouraging. Congratulations on the results.

She already sounds different from me. It's just that since all conversation that is not tulpish (that I have to translate) is gibberish, with the sole exception of 2 isolated "hey"s 3 months apart, the difference in voice only gives the information that she is talking, but not what she is talking about.

I think you can probably tell that I have serious doubt problems already. The combination of aphantasia (visual portion) and lack of differences in tulpish is infuriating. I'm still trying my best to push past it. Hopefully some results can be seen eventually, which I can forsee as being one where the gibberish part goes away and I can directly verify the credibility of possible tulpish by directly asking. My tupper not responding to my queries as to whether she said something or not might be hindering us though.

Have you tried the vocality exercise where you ask her to repeat something you say exactly? "The rain in spain stays mainly on the plain" for example. Or word games where you do direct word association. One of the ways I got from muddled thoughts to words was by associating words with stuff I wanted Spice to say, and then prompting her while I cooked/clean/walked etc. I'd say "up" and she'd say "sky", for example.

Also, i find when my thoughts are all over the place, i will "speak" over her by mistake, thinking her voice is a stray thought (somewhat unconciously) and it takes a lot of effort to push down my own thoughtvoice, and the background noise to hear her. This sounds a lot like tulpish, but it doesn't have the distinct, clear sounds you describe. It's more like hearing a thought through a thick fog.

I haven't had much experience with persistent tulpish, I hope something starts working out for you soon.

Ok so today I was browsing the more negative parts of tulpa.info of people going all "slowpoke general" and something like that. Then I found this:

https://community.tulpa.info/showthread.php?tid=1117

Although the thing is ancient (5 years ago, near the start of tulpa.info), and most of the information is very obsolete (remember hour counts?), this caught my eye:

"Just past 100 hours in, not even sure how to progress anymore. Got a fully vocal response 2 days ago... but went back to mindvoice ever since. Plus, he never says anything too complicated -- anything too long and it gets lost as gibberish."

"(In response to above)...As for the gibberish, I got that for a while too. It seemed to be more like her being unable to formulate that complex a thought into words. It's since resolved -- now I get very quiet mindvoice that trails off after a bit. If I repeat a bit of what she said and prompt her to go on, I can get the next segment. ..."

I also got this:

"The reason I ask those two questions is that I'm wondering if people who are too sane are having trouble perceiving their tulpa... maybe we aren't susceptible enough to psychotic episodes? I'm willing to bet drug users and insomniacs have an easier time with it. Judging by the number of tulpas that become sentient very rapidly, I'm guessing that the issue is not sentience but perception. I'd also bet that any amount of sanity could eventually be overcome with practice - tulpaforcing. But I think it'd help to lower our defenses some to get us over the hump."

My current hypothesises are these:

1. My tupper is very similar to me in terms of speech impidements. This is similar to how I behave; I can occassionally get good ideas, but cannot tell other people.

2. I may be, as stated above, "a bit too sane". This is supported by my experiences of having hypnosis resistance to some extent.

The solution might be to make me less sane, and using other communication methods to build up words.

As for this:

Have you tried the vocality exercise where you ask her to repeat something you say exactly? "The rain in spain stays mainly on the plain" for example. Or word games where you do direct word association. One of the ways I got from muddled thoughts to words was by associating words with stuff I wanted Spice to say, and then prompting her while I cooked/clean/walked etc. I'd say "up" and she'd say "sky", for example.

The first exercise ended with not much of anything, although I suspect I am looking for the wrong thing. The second exercise worked with tulpish, but not with voice, and it started to feel like parroting after a short time. (If it was not parroting, though, then my tupper would prove be more spontaneous than I am, thus proving her sentience and sapience.)

Hopefully it will work soon, and that I really was not parroting during the word game, so that I will have evidemce that our work was not for naught.

On another note, is there any way to lower "mental barriers"? Would sleep deprivation work? If not, what else will?
