Tulpamancy For Self Development

Recommended Posts

Hola mi amigos and amigoettes

Some of you may know I'm not interested in tulpamancy to use it for what its intended for, but it just fascinates me.

So I've been thinking, assuming the theories of Lower Self and Higher Self are true (Lower Self = conscious, decision making mind + the other minds not within its direct control, Higher Self = the soul/infinite consciousness), then that means the Lower Self is extremely malleable. One moment we can feel happy, the next sad. You can train this lower self to adopt certain personality traits, using methods like expanding your comfort-zone, affirmations, visualization to change the self-image, etc.

So my question is, would it possible to modify Tulpamancy techniques to instead re-program your Lower Self?

If so I gotta give that a try, because that would make self-improvement extremely easy (in comparison to expanding your comfort zone and stuff).

Thanks!

Never really heard the term "Lower Self" before, though I've heard Higher Self. Are you talking about spiritual self-development though? Because I don't know what to say about that. But for just normal self-development.. they can be great. Generally just through living with them you learn from them or are influenced by them, but you can also gain experiences from switching, and it's not really practiced in tulpamancy but you can do stuff with merging/eclipsing/other mind-meld-y stuff. But no one here will really encourage making a tulpa to use them. Also, making one to become them or merge with them is kind of not good too. My tulpas have massively improved my life over the years, and all I needed was them to be there with me.

Though I will say you have the ability at any point in time to basically change who you are, it just takes the will to do so. Most people are uncomfortable because it "doesn't feel right" to become different than what they are, but you are what you practice. Being a nicer person is being a nicer person, being more motivated to do the things you need to do is a belief too. From some perspective, "switching with my tulpas" could just be seen as convincing myself I'm someone else. Problem with that concept is "myself" is no longer what it used to be at that point. Easiest to separate your sense of self from your body in that way.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

Hi! Yes, lower self would be influenced by "normal" self-development. I'm not trying to make a tulpa, but I was wondering if the practices could be altered to instead "force" a personality unto yourself

This is actually a reversed way of looking at it. Self improvement techniques are often adopted to smooth the process of creating a tulpa.

Also, my host says you can't change who you are, because that is equivalent to dying and replacing yourself with another person. But you could do that. Most self improvement in our extrinsically valued society is actually changing the way you behave.

I don't know what this higher self or lower self is. I don't think it is a western philosophy idea.

I know this is 5 years too late, but Donald Trump for instance utilizes this method of self-manifestation via copiously watching videos apon videos of himself succeeding. This strengthens him to being a further and further charismatic guy through the insane powers of imagination. If you think about it, the same processes take place when you simply take 5-15 minutes out of your day to visualize your ideal self in a specific way (as taught in Psycho-Cybernetics). Just as you can choose to change others and even create entire mental persons, you can craft virtues (EMPHASIS VIRTUES, NOT THE STRENGTH THAT RESULTS FROM REAL WORK) if you're consistent enough to do so for 7+7+7 days. A few good ideas are ideas such as the concept that you train, study, or meditate the hardest. You can in fact strengthen yourself through this means of hypnotic suggestion, but it goes without saying that suggesting yourself to be the strongest man in the world would only result in a miraculous gain of 5-10 lbs on your lifts for example. That being said, I personally only observe my self-image by pulling back with meditation, align it to accomplish my life purpose, and clean my chakras with prayer.

I would highly suggest you frequent 4chan/x (only slightly better than this board) and read William Walker Atkinson's - Mind Power for more information on the underlying processes, but that's the gist of it for now.
