two questions

Mainly for people who already have fully imposed tulpas:

How long does the impostsion step take?

Could a fully imposed tulpa plug the host's ears?

[Note: Opinions]

I haven't imposed yet, but I can render a good guess for the second question: Yes. Your brain will continue to sense noise, but you will stop perceiving it. In other words, your brain takes it in but it doesn't tell you what it hears, so YOU hear nothing. However, since your brain DID take the information in, you can later ask your tulpa what it heard and it will be able to tell you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensation_%28psychology%29

>Sensation is the function of the low-level biochemical and neurological events that begin with the impinging of a stimulus upon the receptor cells of a sensory organ.

Perception is the mental process or state that is reflected in statements like "I see a uniformly blue wall", representing awareness or understanding of the real-world cause of the sensory input. The goal of sensation is detection, the goal of perception is to create useful information of the surroundings.

Mine is pretty well imposed, and I never realized how crazy it actually is until about a week ago she sat on my desk in the middle of a class and I told her to move because I couldn't see. After a second I realized what I had just said, and thought about what just happened, and it blew my mind.

I hope my tulpa doesn't become imposed for the first time when I'm in public. I'm going to cry and I know it.

And question one...?

Well, doing a bit of math from FAQ's guide, using the median time of each step:

15 (personality) + 10 (visualization) + 10 (touch) + 6 (smell) + 7 (gestures) + 25 (narration) = 73 - 100 (total time) = -27 = 27 (imposing)

So about 27 hours, but you may want to check my math, since it sucks. Also, this is going solely by math, which is not to most trustworthy method for this question.

Tulpae don't become imposed just like that. It takes effort and the process is gradual (transparent to solid). I also think you would be able to see behind your tulpa if you tried, but I don't know if doing so would be annoying to your tulpa or not.

I think a better choice of words then would be to say that I hope my tulpa doesn't become, for all extent and purposes, 'finished' while I'm in public.

Not sure, everyone's different there's no set time.

No, I've tried, never works, never ever.
