  1. Yeah, taking care of yourself is priority one. Nobody's going to judge you for that. We're just glad you're back. Sorry to hear things have been rough for you
  2. Glad you added game as an option. Kingdom Hearts. I love lore in general, and that series was a huge part of my childhood. Same question.
  3. When I was about seven, I dreamed of a dark room that extended further than I could see, that was filled with giant metal gears, pistons, and other mechanical structures that made a deafening mechanical crunching and clanging sound. I was in the middle of it, in the one small space where I would not be harmed by machinery, and I did not know where I was, or how I could leave. I had this dream more than once. What's your favorite movie?
  4. Um, ah, well... Define "too often..." Next person has not seen the movie Evil Dead(the original, not the remake).
  5. Hello! I think this is awesome. If you get the time and would like to, I'd love to see how you portray Rhea. But don't rush yourself. I don't have photo references but I believe I can describe her pretty well. I can give you the info here or in a PM if you'd like.
  6. Mine gave herself the name Rhea(pronounced ray-uh), which I didn't recall hearing before and assumed was made up, or perhaps came from some character from a story I had forgotten, that she just dug it out of my subconscious. Upon seeing this poll I decided to Google it, and it turns out that not only is that name technically a fairly normal human name(though not the most common), it's the name of a Greek titan, the "mother of the gods," and also the name of the Roman goddess Rhea Silvia, the mother of the founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus. So Rhea probably did pull the name from my subconscious, but now I'm sure I picked it up from some history class or independent study. Interesting choice she made, regardless. Gives me something new to talk to her about. Anyway, I'm voting regular human name, since there are a decent number of people with that name.
  7. No, I wouldn't expect to finish creation in a week. Hopefully I didn't come across in that way: "OMG I'm a tulpa genius!" Totally didn't mean it that way. Yes, I wasn't meaning to equate communication with finished development. I was a bit concerned at first that I might have been parroting, but further reading around the forums has pretty much put that concern to rest, at least. These are interesting thoughts. I thought my previous experiences might affect the process, kind of like accidental training, but the idea of her already being there, that's something I wouldn't have thought to consider. Would love to hear more thoughts on this from either of you, if you'd like. All in all, I have to admit my question was at best poorly worded, and at worst just inappropriate. I got easily excited by the idea and got ahead of myself. Haven't given up, though, been working with her every day, and really enjoying the process. Thanks to all for the input and food for thought. To rephrase, now that I understand the concept better and know the vocabulary a lot better, I believe my mind probably assigned words to a general feeling that she was sending me--translating from "tulpish," I think is the way to put it. Since then I've been getting bits and pieces that are kind of hazy and difficult to hear, but mostly just feelings, emotions, head pressures. I'm not deluding myself into expecting instant progress, but I'm not doubting her either, and it seems like she's doing well. Long way to go, for sure, but we'll get there. Thanks again to everyone.
  8. Hm, I didn't find that one. Guess I didn't use the right keywords. Thanks!
  9. Hi all, I'm sorry if this question has been asked before. I tried a search, and didn't find anything similar. My question is: Is it common for a Tulpa to begin to communicate in some (semi-)independent way on the first day that creation of that Tulpa began? I'm new to this, I guess, having played with what I think might've been a simple tulpa when I was younger, just not knowing what it was and never reaching any sort of sentience with her, so my experience today was kind of surprising. While at work I was turning the concept of a tulpa over in my mind and wondering about what sort of features and personality traits she would have(I decided on gender, but not much else. I didn't recycle any of the features from the tulpa-concept I had when I was younger). The thoughts were disjointed and not at all focused, unlike what I've seen described in articles and guides on this site. It may or may not be noteworthy that I felt pressure in a particular point in my skull after thinking about those things for an extended period of time. After work, I decided to go buy a notebook to keep a sort of tulpa creation journal, for when I actually started working on forcing my tulpa, and I was scanning the store shelves, when a bright red journal style notebook caught my eye, and a mental voice that didn't feel like my own simply said "That one!" accompanied by an intense flash of positive emotion directed at the color red. After that event, I sort of tried to talk to my tulpa, and felt these vague shots of contrarian, playful emotion whenever I spoke that didn't feel like they originated from me. I know from what I've read so far that "your results may vary," and no one can really tell me what I can and can't expect, but I also read that most people usually spend at least a few days, if not weeks or longer, working on their tulpa before they experience any kind of communication that feels kind of independent. I don't mean for any of that to sound like a brag, because I don't even know if I was actually experiencing what I think I was experiencing, and I'm just curious if I'm on the right track. I'm interested in any feedback, discussion, or whatever anyone has to contribute. I'm really enjoying learning about tulpae so far.
  10. Hi all, Just started reading about all of this last night(March 24), and I'm very interested in the concept, been reading through tons of articles and guides. It makes me think I almost accidentally stumbled upon creating something like a Tulpa back in my early teenage years, but I just assumed I was being weird and didn't stick with it long enough to get her to sentience. I think I can learn a lot here.
