A very clever ruse.

So this happened:

7SsGyGE.png

For a glorious 13 minutes.

For anyone wondering, the L in the clone's name was not in fact an L, but Unicode Character 'SMALL ROMAN NUMERAL FIFTY' (U+217C), which just so happens to look like a regular lowercase L

Here they are next to eachother l ⅼ

In some fonts (eg mine) they look exactly the same.

Here they are next to eachother bigger & bold: l ⅼ

Different fonts:

l ⅼ

l ⅼ

l ⅼ

l ⅼ

l ⅼ

l ⅼ

If you want to fix this, or if you want to do similar shenanigans,

http://www.unicode.org/Public/security/8.0.0/confusables.txt

is an extensive list of all the characters that could be confused with other characters in the entirety of unicode. Fun!

PS: The "you are banned" message is very annoying to read. Is that on purpose?

PSS: What rule did I break?

Dupe/sockpuppet account. The policy is one account per person, where a person can be a tulpa or a host.

Lyra: human female, ~17

Evan: boy, ~14, was an Eevee

Anera: anime-style girl, ~12; Lyra made her

It doesn't say that anywhere on the rules thread I was looking at: https://community.tulpa.info/announcement-tulpa-info-rules

I mean obviously this wasn't allowed (PLZ DON'T BAN ME) but I don't see that anywhere. What am I missing?

Well, I guess Chupi's words count as an amendment/errata, cap'n.

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." -Aristotle

"When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love." -Marcus Aurelius

“Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.” -Neil Gaiman

"The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried." -Stephen McCranie

This was in the old rules:

1.7. No novelty accounts.

Each individual human, person, or tulpa is allowed to only have one account. Unapproved multiple accounts will result in a full ban, that is, if we're considering that you're trying to bypass the warn. If you've been warned, muted or banned then think about your behaviour.

It was apparently omitted from the new ones, but I don't know if that was intentional or not. The new ones are in general much more concise than the old ones, so it might have been dropped for redundancy, more or less.

It was not intentional. We tried to cut back on legalese and excess length in the new rules, and that one didn't make it in. I'm not counting this against your main account in any way. I just banned the novelty account.

A clever and thorough imitation though.

Now I'm wondering what'd happen if people started impersonating other people in a giant meta-RP. It'd be funny to see people's takes on each other.

Mass banning, obviously.
