Ace's Progress Report: Or, a Way to Keep Myself Honest

Hi there, all. My name is Ace. I've done a lot of hard research into tulpas the past couple days, and after some thinking, I've decided to give it a go for myself.

Incidentally, I won't be alone in trying it. I turned my best friend onto it, and she'll be working to create her own in tandem. While I'm happy to have her around to make sure I'm forcing daily, I feel like recording my progress and sharing it with you guys will be a credit to my success! So hello, everyone!

So, today is the first step of our journey! Well, in a sense. I'm still putting a lot of thought into what my tulpa's personality is going to be. I want to be sure to dedicate a lot of care to this part of the process, seeing how much its importance has been stressed.

I have worked a bit on my (rather pathetic) wonderland thus far. It's only one room, as of yet, but hey, that's a start, right? I can see it pretty vividly for a good few minutes before it slips away. It's lit by a roaring stone fireplace. The walls, too, are stone, a bit like the inside of a castle. The floors are wood--however, a large, plush scarlet-colored rug is sprawled out in the middle. There are two chairs to one side, near a (closed) door, and on the other a sort of chaise lounge chair. These are all forest green, very cushiony. Next to the chaise lounge is a floor lamp, but I haven't been able to turn it on and observe any changes in the lighting yet. Boohoo. What else...there's a window, but I have a hard time focusing on what's outside. Blah. Oh!! Above the mantle of the fireplace, there's this lovely painting of a ball, a whole bunch of fancily-dressed couples doing a waltz. It's a lot like one my grandma used to have.

Anyone who might be reading this: do you find it really easy to visualize while in the shower? For some reason the rushing water really gets me in tune with my mind's eye.

Anyway, I'm not sure if I'll be keeping an hour count in this log, but so far, I've done about an hour and a half. I'll keep you all posted!

I wish the real world would just stop hasslin' me...

Good luck to you and your friend, first of all. It seems like you have been making good decisions with everything so far, and id like to see what you guys do in the future :D.

About the shower thing, yes, actually. Whenever it's that early in the morning and I get that sudden sensory input it more or less emphasizes anything around me that I want to see. Usually I just water-bend (by that, I just mean I visualize the water doing things while I control it. I do it with pretty much anything I want, including shadows, and it's a great way to train your mind's eye) in the shower while I talk to my tulpae, who stay outside the curtain, and when I get out I can see them much clearer than I usually can by just talking to them anywhere during the day.

[align=center]Even though my username is that of my tulpa, Quilten, my name is Phaneron, the host, who does all of the actual posting.

Agh, I've been sick. Meaning my focus has been almost entirely shot...so not much progress to report on these past couple of days, I'm afraid.

Let's see, what have I got to share with you guys...I've been having an easier and easier time with visualizing my wonderland! So that's good. Practice makes perfect, I suppose. My concentration has been getting better, despite, like I said, feeling pretty crappy.

I'll be sure to keep you guys posted within the next couple days...maybe I'll have something interesting to share when I'm not sick as a dog, huh? XD

I wish the real world would just stop hasslin' me...
