An Endless List of Things to do in General

Ranger

Recommended Posts

I'm guessing most Hosts are introverts and already have a specific idea of how to do life. As Cat's Tulpa, I sometimes I feel like I live in a box, and I wonder if other Tuppers feel the same way sometimes.

I know threads like 42 1/2 things to do with your Tulpa exist, but I hope to achieve the next step up with this thread. It's kinda lame if only one system grinds to come up with a list of things to do. Why not let the whole community in on it? That way, it's easier to expose ourselves to new ideas since other people would have come up with something eventually. I want to learn how to be my own person but I feel like we're running out of ideas and I can't handle being bored or watching my host geek out over god damn pocket frogs for another minute!

In this thread, just list an idea for something to do. I know everything in this thread won't apply to everyone, but the goal is eventually a system will find something they like. You can add as many ideas as you want, and feel free to click around to see if something interesting pops up.

The only rule is describe a specific action. So for example, post topics like "Create a purple dragon and ride it" instead of things like "Find your favorite song" and avoid questions like "What's your favorite food?". The topics can be really simple but please no NSFW without a warning beforehand.

As a side note: This isn't really a forum game, but whoever posts the most ideas that are hilarious wins by default.

I'll start here by posting a few ideas:

  • Go rollerblading. Ask whoever isn't fronting to pay attention to the breeze, trees, and stinky trashcans (if applicable for the worse).

  • Go on a walk and keep a tally of the number of squirrels that run by, but try to count the squirrel before another system mate! Whoever counts more squirrels wins!

  • Have a host fold a paper boat and then let a Tupper possess the body and have them do it (I bet 5 cents the Tulpa is better at origami!)

  • Try to solve a math problem worth a million dollars. No I'm serious, this is a thing. There's six left and ya know what they say! 2 heads (or lots of heads) are better than one!

I'm Ranger, GrayTheCat's cobud (tulpa), and I love hippos! I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron.

I think someone paying attention to the outside world is, by definition, fronting.

ya think a tulpa being imposed couldn't pay attention to the world? we can

going on walks to practice imposition is really good practice, we mostly learned to do that (before I was around) by walking around Lumi's college campus together between classes. Try not to get sat on I guess

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal!

Go skinnydipping

Road trip

- make a backronym game from groups of letters seen on license plates

Play Truth Or Dare

- preferably with good friends outside the system, and maybe avoid picking systemmates (Devin picked me in a game of TOD once and we got kind of blendy)

Build a model railroad

Write a story in which a character has a tulpa but it's just a depth-of-story thing, and not really a focus of the plot

- maybe the tulpa is more important to the story than the host

- maybe the systemmate relationship between two characters isn't made obvious until late in the story, but it's just low-key

Match socks into pairs

Learn a style of dance

Design a fictional currency

Draw/Paint

Build models

Play D&D but base your character off your tulpa so you can imagine them in the DM's story and have them make the decisions of the party for you (personally a favorite)

Play 20 questions

I spy (this one gets stupid after a while)

Read a book

Write ideas for stories

In that case you'd be paying attention to a wonderland version of the real world, which still works I guess.

No, we tie in to the body's actual senses. Don't think for a second that our visualization is good enough to do something like that; we'd be constantly walking into walls and disappearing if we had to rely on the level of clarity our visualization provides. We pay attention to the world through the body's senses. Although our point of reference is different, our visual perspective is still the body's.

Saying we're in the wonderland if we walk five steps ahead of our host is like saying the host is in the wonderland because they anticipate what's around a corner. We do exist in a mental pseudo-map of the area around the body I suppose, one that's directly overlayed onto the world and the body's vision no less, but it's still separate from wonderland/visualization. Our visualization quality has literally nothing to do with it; we'd notice if it did.

So yeah. Let your tulpa walk around with you imposed. It's very good practice to complement the more stationary imposition process that doesn't involve much activity. Once you get good at it the tulpa can accompany the host basically anywhere anywhen, which should be great if they've been feeling stuck in the head. Still can't interact with things directly, but you can at least feel like you're there.

Hi, I'm Tewi, one of Luminesce's tulpas. I often switch to take care of things for the others.

All I want is a simple, peaceful life. With my family.

Yeah, imposition practice while walking around is pretty great. There's really no reason not to.

As for some other things to do:

  • Try watching 2 different things at once, or more specifically each of you tries to watch 1 of the 2 things (e.g. a youtube video and a tv show playing at the same time). Kind of like a more entertaining version of this parallel procesing test (btw that's also a thing worth doing).

  • Summon your host/tulpa in a lucid dream (I wish).

  • While one of you fronts, have another one give instructions (the activity should generally be something complex or dynamic, like a game). See how efficient your verbal shortcuts can get.

Yo, my name is Sean and I'm the host of 2 tulpas: Sente and Mae. You'll know when they're talking because Sente talks in yellow text and Mae talks in blue text.

  • Eat a Rollup, Fruit by the foot, and Gushers fruit snacks. Then pick a favorite.
  • Have your Tupper (or if the host is lazy, then the host) replace and tie shoe laces to an old tennis shoe.
  • Have the Tulpa possess the body and feed a pet.

  • 5 months later...

Cat asked if I also wanted to necromance a thread tonight and I decided to revive this one. I want to use this as a list of things new hosts can try if they are struggling with finding something to talk about or try. I remember when Cat had some trouble finding things to talk about, and I want to bump this thread so more people know this exists.

  • Read a book and talk about the characters. Do you or your Tulpa connect to any of the characters, or all they all bums? Are there traits those characters have that your Tulpa likes / dislikes?
-Bonus: act a scene in the story with your Tulpa in your Wonderland (and make sure to add more dragons).
  • Why is 42 the answer? What is the meaning of life? Can you come up with a better philosophy question than I can right now?
  • Have you and your Tulpa eat a rose. Do it.
    In the wonderland please

As a more serious exercise, talk to your Tulpa about something that's bothering you (but don't force it if there's nothing on your mind). Sometimes having a deeper conversation can open some doors as to what to talk about next and draw people closer together.
