are there some people that can't do this?

Recommended Posts

I have very bad focus and concentration. My mind wanders and drifts easily. My visualization and imagination aren't too good either. I do daydream a lot, but if I try to *force* it, i can't see anything. it has to come naturally.

so it seems like this is something i'm incapable of doing. what do you guys think?

I think that you're capable of doing it, seeing as how there are work-arounds for poor visualization skills and a low level of focus.

I found that all you need to do is just narrate. I don't even know how to "force" and I've been getting plenty of pressure. Just make sure you have a good concept of their personality and try to make it as much of a personal experience as possible.

so how am I supposed to make a tulpa actually appear in my sights, visually? if I just narrate, i'll just have another personality in my head, but I'll never actually have something that interacts with my 5 senses.

actually, that sounds really crazy. i just discovered this yesterday. but I imagine in order to actually conjure up a visual hallucination, it'd take an enormous amount of time and concentration, wouldn't it?

correct me if i'm wrong, but the way to do it is to sit in a place and just constantly think about my tulpa visually for several hours a day, and eventually, I'll actually see the tulpa in front of me?

Have you read the guides thoroughly? And besides that, have you read more than one guide? Just go back through them a couple of times. Then report back.

Okay, so I should narrate to develop its personality and sentience before trying to make a hologram of it?

I'm just skeptical on how it's even possible for me to induce a hallucination without the aid of drugs or being in a dream state. If this were possible with a mere 20 hours or whatever people reported, why aren't consistent visual hallucinations more common with the general population? Seeing a constant realistic hallucination without having a mental illness or being on drugs is almost unheard of.. so how are some people here saying that they're able to see something within a couple days?

It's does not take a couple days to do this. Those are the lucky ones, on average it takes months.

As for the second question, have you even heard of Forth? Ben NanoNote? The Cyc Project? There's a whole galaxy of amazing things out there that are under the veil of obscurity for many reasons. Don't question it, just judge it yourself, not for how popular it is or isn't, and go for the ride.

By the way when I say Forth I mean the programming language. You know, the one running fucking NASA rockets, that no one's even heard of.

Woah. I looked up that NanoNote; that's really cool. And only $100.

But yeah, don't be led astray by extreme cases. It's still generally accepted that it takes months to do this. Also yes, read the damn guides

Astral project on my face, brother!

I hope that anybody is capable, given enough time.

Of course I would imagine that like pretty much everything else in life, that some people are quite possibly incapable. Hopefully it is simply a matter of time and diligence.

The first two links in the post I made here should be helpful. I am kind of in the same boat, and I've going through every single thread looking for information about it. Read those two threads in that post, they'll be informative.

I've also been told that you get better at visualising by just doing it. What I'm doing is I'm doing personality stuff etc, as well as practising my visualisation by thinking of a human body. It's not necessarily going to be the form that my tulpa takes, in fact, I hope they choose their own unique one. I just think it's good to get a head start on trying to "see" stuff if you just find it that hard in the first place.

Another good idea would be visualising a wonderland- but not for your tulpa, at least, not until your tulpa is done. Just to give you some practise. If you get good enough at it you can bring up the wonderland after you finish your tulpa.
