Can tulpas have Tourette's?

So, I've noticed that my tulpa will occasionally say something either extremely rude or otherwise out of character for her. Not very often, but occasionally.

Most of the time she just shrugs it off and says that it was an intrusive thought. However, a few minutes ago she admitted that yes, she has said some of these odd and sometimes vulgar things that I've been hearing. She says that they just sort of slip out every now and then. I should mention that she's a conservative Catholic, and this is extremely unusual for her.

I'm wondering if it's possible that she might have Tourette syndrome. Can a tulpa have a condition like that? If so, does anyone know how something like that could develop?

Do you have tourette's syndrome? The only way I could see this developing out of the blue is if you yourself have tourette's. Otherwise, I don't see how else the tulpa could form it (its not like anyone would want to have tourette's.)

Another possibility is that the words you are hearing are simply just intrusive thoughts and not actually your tulpa saying anything.

Well, I do suffer from OCD, a number of Asperger's symptoms, and a number of anxiety disorders. I have been known to suffer from small ticks (usually muscle twitches or involuntary movements).

I can relate. But yes, that is exactly what it sounds like. No reason that your tupper couldn't have tourette's, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, after some analysis, I've come to the conclusion that Tammy does suffer from a Tourette's-like condition. Looking over my own odd psyche, it looks like she suffers from ticks the same way I do but, unlike me, she does not have a physical body that can spasm and twitch all over the place, so her ticks come out as verbal disturbances.

Well, since you have ticks and stuff, and when you put it together with the "new network/pathways" theory, I guess she could.. if that's how tourette's works... It depends on how tourette's works, really. In the brain. Whether or not she could have tourette's on her uh.. pathways?

My lip hurts.

Oh look, a thread about this was already made so I don't have to make a new one.

I've been thinking about this for a while but I had questioned if Zack has Tourettes. This came about when I had a talk with my friend weeks ago about something I was doing myself. I would experience these sort of "ticks" when I'm having a mental breakdown such as slapping myself in the face, jerking my head and repeating phrases such as... "they're all going to die!" "they're all going to die!" "they're all going to die!" "they're all going to die!" which is mostly in mumbles. I used to get into some serious trouble back when I was in high school for saying things like this.

Now with Zack, on the other hand, these "ticks" happen just 'cus. No sort of anxiety behind them, as he's told me. Some of the sort of ticks I've witnessed over the years is him saying very random and inappropriate things out loud with no context such as "PENIS!" or "FUCK!" When I visualize him, at times I could see his eyes move frantically around which I was going to question him about it but I didn't want to sound mean and I just assumed that it was just something that his eyes do and left it be. I have seen some motor tics with him as well, at least in a few dreams where he would pace back and forth.

Since Zack and I communicate a lot verbally, Zack is used to speaking through my mouth. There have been many times where he's yelled these random words and phrases from my mouth which I try to keep him quiet since our neighbors could hear us. This doesn't happen as often, though, and usually, Zack is pretty quiet when people are around, such as my mother.

I at first didn't think much of any of this because I just assumed that was just something Zack did and nothing more. His personality has always been really hyperactive and loud (as opposed to me) which the question of ADHD comes about and split personalities. I honestly think it's cute; something unique. Now... I don't know if that's a good thing to say but at least I'm not stating that it's bad.
