Committing suicide whilst having a Tulpa?

Hi, bit of a bizarre question here, but how would your Tulpa feel if you committed suicide? Would they see it you murdering them? Would the understand that their host just couldn't take it anymore? Would they themselves not be able to take it anymore?

And yeah, I suspect the answer will vary from Tulpa to Tupla. Just a thought, but the main thought that keeps me from trying out Tulpamancy.

Thanks!

Well gee. I imagine I would feel much of anything at all.

Snarky answer aside, even if it's not the tulpa's life or body, they do rely on it for their own continued existence. So they might as well consider it murder. Though it is implied the host has a certain right of control over their own body. So it may be less "murder" and more "If you do this, I'll die too". Though some will still just call it murder. Anyways, most tulpas would try to help prevent this in some way long before simply saying "Well go ahead I guess it's your body".

Based on your last couple questions, I can assume they aren't coming from a healthy place. But I'm not so good at the anti-depression motivational stuff. Anyways, you're assuming the tulpa experiences exactly what their host does in this case, which is nowhere near necessarily the case. In most cases I believe the tulpa would try and deal with a difficult life situation themselves. But should they see the world the same way their host does (I honestly don't see this often, tulpas tend to have a more positive view than their host when their host's is negative) then I suppose?

I don't know. I've never seen a tulpa agree with their host that life is too hard and they should give up. They always try and promote a better world view, trying harder, or sometimes simply letting them deal with it instead.

To answer this question, IMO, is to question the nature of dissipation in regards to tulpa, and see if we can find a mirroring behind what could really be going on. Is it the conscious sequence of degrading the continuity of self over time? Or, should other metaphors be applied, i.e., egocide? Linkzelda made a thread for discussing what probably makes dissipation the way it is for some here:

https://community.tulpa.info/thread-dissipation-the-end-of-a-tulpa-or-the-end-of-the-novelty-behind-them

Also, the question seems limited on a 'what-if' as I imagine if this egocide thing was possible, there wouldn't be a host to live to tell the tale. And as for the tulpa that is still intact, I would assume that in order for them to still have a continuity of self after the event, there was probably less focus in having a continuity of self for the host. But, it just raises the question on how strong the continuity really is to be broken over the course of time. I think when it comes to mental phenomenon, it's not the same as the impermanence of physicality where once the body dies, it's dead. There would be an impermanence for mental events, but it would involve a completely different dynamic in conditioned existence.

Sure, mental events are contingent on how long the physicality of the body and brain is intact, but mental events don't, IMO, seem to share the one-way event of dissipation, or decomposing of the physicality. If anything, it's just a representation to try to get to a point, but one should be reminded that these are merely models, and not an actual thing going on.

Also, lobotomies, anyone? Anyone??

My Melian wouldn't like it and would do everything in her power to stop me from killing myself. She doesn't want to cease to exist and she doesn't want to lose me.

But here's a question for you, how do you know that her existence is contingent on your continuity of self being around? Is it because

you feel your conditioned existence, and application of subjective experience is catered towards you alone? Also, lobotomies? Anyone? Anyone??

Are you referring to egocide, ie not killing the body but the effective dissipation of an "identity" (sorry to use our word, but I'm trying to include hosts along with tulpas), or asking why we're sure tulpas won't live on without the body?

If you're referring to me, I'm talking about mental phenomenon. Nothing to do with the physicality at all as I imagine that if that was compromised, there wouldn't be a host or tulpa to tell the tale. Lobotomies, though. Interesting topic to correlate with this, I think.

Also, Mistgod, woah. I won't ask further. I thought you were going to respond in the typical fashion, but I'll leave you be.

Yeah that was at you, Mistgod ninja'd me with his concise response. I wasn't sure because the thread itself is talking about the physical definition, hence the "Would they see it as you murdering them?" I think he meant how do tulpas feel about their hosts committing suicide from a still as of yet living point of view.
