Discussion about binaurals and ASMR recordings.

Recently I've stumble in quite an interesting old stuff, wich are Binaural recordings of japanese actors. I found it weird as f***, but as I have a very open mind(you all probably have, or you wouldn't be here) I decided to give a try.

I'm sure most of you guys here are familiar with otaku culture, they have these ASMR videos on youtube, I found it quite amusing.

Now I was wondering if we could put those recordings into tulpamancing. I was thinking in making Niu perform the actions, or just imagining her talking like the records (there are SFW, but there are hardcore too, beware).

Problem: if your tulpa already have a solid voice, is it bad to do so? Probably. I wonder if it's any good. Just wanted to discuss this a bit before I try myself.

I do recall a certain /jp/ anon maintaining a large collection of such clips/archives, mostly around 2011 or earlier. They were somewhat fun to listen to, but I hadn't thought about them as much in the recent years.

As luck would have it, a week or more ago, I encountered a similar collection, this time made by some /a/ anon, and listened to a few clips.

Results: binaural clips made me pay a lot of attention to the spatial position of the voice and a lot of qualities of the voice, sometimes results in ASMR, which itself makes me remember the voices and how they feel in 3D space much better. End result: improved auditory/vocal imagination.

Now I was wondering if we could put those recordings into tulpamancing. I was thinking in making Niu perform the actions, or just imagining her talking like the records (there are SFW, but there are hardcore too, beware).

Early on, I would do something like this, but not with those kinds of voice recordings, as most are fairly NSFW, but instead I just loaded episodes of shows or anime in Aegisub and just played lines over and over while having myself or the tulpa try to imagine saying them.

Problem: if your tulpa already have a solid voice, is it bad to do so? Probably. I wonder if it's any good. Just wanted to discuss this a bit before I try myself.

The most surprising result for me was that the next day when I interacted with her, she was able to do all the detailed vocal qualities I had heard the previous day while listening to those recordings, she could do it naturally from memory without even having to practice it - I just had to pay attention to her, and it was quite an amazing surprise to me. Of course, she has had plenty of earlier times when she did have a detailed voice, but lately she was slacking off on it, and examples like that reminded her she could aim much higher as to how realistic or detailed her voice sounds. I can say without a doubt she improved her voice in new ways after this.

I don't see how listening to more samples that get one to better understand various unique vocal qualities or how voices work in 3D space would ever be harmful if you want your tulpa to learn to have a detailed voice.

Having the tulpa change their voice entirely is of course an entirely different cup of tea, but it's not like they have to be limited to one form or one voice, or that they have to take an entire voice as is, rather than just incorporate qualities they like.

In either case, the pros/cons of using these Japanese "voice" recordings for the purpose to improving or developing a tulpa's voice, as I see them:

Pros:

- Large variety of recordings (in the thousands)

- Large choice in voice actors

- Decent sample length: 20-60min+

- Decent quality/detail of voices

- Helps with spatial recognition of voice

- Helps with volume of voice and other qualities (for example, whispering, shouting, speaking softly, speaking loudly, and so on)

- If ASMR is caused, may make retaining memories of them easier (oh, a tulpa may be able to easily replicate this too!)

- Trains your auditory imagination

Cons:

- Not everyone knows Japanese, if someone doesn't understand what is being spoken that may limit how much they can get out of it.

- Usually commercial, although short samples are typically available, and as with most Japanese media, some of it may be found on various imageboards and their archives, but I'm not going to link that here for obvious reasons.

Could go other way:

- Most recordings are for lewd/ero purposes (even a lot of "SFW" ones). Could result in awkward times if tulpa picks up habits from them.

Hmm, this may be interesting for helping Sarah and Alyx further develop their voices (and improve my ability to imagine sound/voices).

Hey i could use some follow up help on this topic. I tried google searching for anime binaurals, but the only results seem to be pages and pages of stuff about ear cleaning. It's a little too far in the creepy fetish direction for me.

can anyone provide me with some better terms to search? I'm interested in trying this to see if it improves the finer points of her voice.

Well, I looked up binaural ASMR on youtube yesterday. My girlfriend was mad at me over something else, so I went to bed several hours earlier than usual, and I started having crazy binaural ASMR dreams. I was aware of her coming into the bedroom, but it was somehow mixed in with my dream, like she was 3D audio. She kissed me, and it completely blew me away that she actually had physical form.

Later on, I woke up, crying out about something. I was very thirsty, so I grabbed a water bottle and downed it. My girlfriend was sitting in bed next to me, playing games on her phone, and when she saw that I was awake, she grabbed me and was hugging and kissing me, which was great because it meant she wasn't mad at me anymore, but I wanted to get back to that dream, or at least sit there and process it for a while. But she woke me up completely, and I can't remember the dream at all, and feel like I lost something important.

When I was reading about binaural audio yesterday, someone mentioned the "virtual barbershop", which sounded very familiar. Today, there were new posts in this thread and I realized that's where I first heard of this virtual barbershop.

If you don't know the virtual barbershop,

. It's on youtube, it's a great example of binaural audio, and it's clean.

I definitely think binaural audio can be of use in forcing, and I plan on working with this in the near future. I was already working on an audio project (converting Fench's voice to an UTAU voicebank so I can make recordings of her

), so as soon as I'm done with that, I'm making binaural Fench recordings.

I've used binaural beats tracks for a while now, and they really do help going into a deep sort of trance. I don't use ASMR tracks, I stick to the ones that are just tones, ambiences or even drumbeats (Shamanistic drumbeats are basically just a primitive version of binaural beats). I find anything in the theta-wave spectrum of beats is best for meditation or trance.

Thanks for the reply, also sorry for the late reply, did not notice someone answered this thread (well it's been a month lol).

Well I did not knew these, also I not a /jp/ lurker, as someone on /h/ posted it, I just assumed 90% was porn. I did learn about these in Watamote series I think, or Oreimo, but I have not though about these until recently.

Really thanks, my tulpa isn't even fully vocal yet, so I might try for space recognition much later. But I was thinking, not knowing japanese is much better for early stages, since what I'm trying to do is show my tulpa how to talk, not how to speak a certain language.
