Dudebilly tries to create a phantom limb... For Science! Feel free to lurk

Okay, so for some reason, I thought about phantom limbs at work today. In my opinion, I would love to see if I have enough willpower and focus to generate a phantom limb. My goal? I want to keep posting in this log, first of all! This is my motivation; this is my drive. If I manage to keep posting and updating this thread, perhaps I'll stay focused enough to create my own phantom limb. Other than that, I want a tail. I took a pen and drew a small tail on my thumb, so every time I glanced down, I saw it and remembered to visualize, feel, and try to create a tail in my mind. I tried to feel how it would act as I walked, as I moved, etc etc. Whenever I would get distracted, and I noticed my thumb with the tail, I would immediately try to visualize the tail again. Hopefully, in the future, I can do without the tail drawing. For now, though, it is completely necessary to keep my focus. But, why do I want a tail? Because I figure it would be pretty cool. Also, I want a tail because nobody I know in the present has had one. Therefore, I cannot comprehend what a tail feels like. In the name of science, I am going to generate a one! I'll be completely honest with you if you're completely honest with me. I am doing this for science, not for role play. By the way, feel free to follow me and learn of my progress, my failures, and whatever else may come my way. And go ahead and ask questions or just talk with me! I would like a little company along the way. Shoot, if you're interested, let me know how your phantom limb generation is going! Any tips are appreciated! Anyhow, I'll post more in the near future.

Dudebilly, check this out if you haven't already. This is interesting, and I'll definitely be following your progress.

Dani, well, it may be now, but I was working on a HUD servitor when I started my PR. I didn't start on my tulpa for a week or two.

Haha Shui, that's the thread that I remembered at work and sparked my new interest. Well, let's get on with it, shall we?

Time for....

My first update! Day 1 on the road to a phantom tail!

So today I tried to give a tail more thought than I did yesterday, and ended up being passively aware of it for the better part of the day. I seem to have gotten a whole lot better at tracking it's movement as I walk and complete other various activities, much like you are aware of where your hand is at when you move around. The tail drawing on my hand is serving it's purpose very well, but I seem to remind myself of my tail more often than the drawing. I may go without it tomorrow and see how well that goes. I believe I have developed a way to bring a tail into better focus. (Go ahead, try this at home!) I pictured and imagined myself touching the top of my head, and slowly tracing a finger down my spine. Feel your spine, feel your skin, make it as real as possible to your imaginary touch. Trace your finger down to your coccyx and, without stopping, continue down onto a tail. Feel the type of skin, the type of hair or scales. Make it as real as possible. I did this a few times to bring the tail into sharper focus, and it worked surprisingly well! After doing this I can almost feel the tail hanging there! Sometimes, if I focus on it too sharply, I can almost feel a twitching or tingling at the location, which I believe is a good sign. So, in my opinion, I broke some ground today. Question: Do any of you have tips on making imposition easier? I don't know if I'm going about it the wrong way or not, but while I cannot see my tail in the physical, I can feel it in the nonphysical. My hope is that given enough time, my brain will have no choice but to realize that this feeling is not going away, and will have to fill in the blanks, giving me sight, sound, touch, and perhaps smell or taste (If I choose to smell or taste it anyway!). So, it's going to be a long road, but I'm glad there are a few people who have taken an interest in me and want to follow my progress! You guys are really motivating me to break ground and report it back here for your viewing pleasure. Perhaps I may spark a few of you into giving it a try yourself! To all other tulpamancers or phantommancers out there, take care. I'll be back tomorrow.

Interesting. Funnily enough, I happen to be doing basically the same thing, except instead of a tail, I'm just doing cat ears on top of my head. To remember to focus on the all throughout the day, I tie something to my lower leg tight enough where I can always feel it, and it's uncomfortable, but not cutting off blood flow. The ears are deep cobalt on the outside, and are furry on the inside with black hair and flecks of yellow.

I'm really interested to see how you progress through this, and I'm glad you posted it. Good luck in the future!

I don't know if my second reply actually posted, because it gave me an error and some other funny things when I posted it, yet it still appears in my PR. Perhaps only I can see it? I don't know. Anyway, here is a quick update before I go to work. I have not seen any real improvements, unfortunately. While it is easier still to visualize and sense the tail there, that is about as far as I've gotten. I was thinking back to when a few friends and I went and saw a hypnotist at a comedy club, and thought of something. If the hypnotist could make my friend see all kinds of things (He later confirmed he did indeed see things, and wasn't acting.), perhaps I too can be hypnotized to see and feel this tail? Please, by all means, post your thoughts and feedback below.
