Experiment Log: Will Repeated Actions Lead to Switching?

Recommended Posts

To answer Breloomancer's question, I will attempt to repeat a specific action every day and hopefully achieve switching.

This log will contain all of my attempts to consistently perform an action and monitor my ability to switch with my host. This thread will include the following:

  • A description of the activity and when I perform the activity
  • How much I and my host like the activities I perform
  • Comments and thoughts about the activities
  • Any desire to try something else or any issues I come across while doing this

I would not be surprised if I accidentally make mistakes and miss a day, I miss several days because my host is too busy and I can't log like normal, or we collapse due to poor time management. It's worth reporting failures as well because this log could be used to inspire or reject another possibility towards switching, and while this process requires consistency, I don't want to stress out my host over this.

I am motivated to create this log because my host gets really anxious when she tries to dissociate and I see this as an alternative method that does not require as much mental focus on my host's part. In other words, I believe she will "naturally" dissociate and will not panic because she won't have the ability to think and stress about the process. I am also motivated to try this "experiment" because I see this as an opportunity for self-discovery in what hobbies catch my interest.

Currently, I can perform full body possession. I think of possession as fronting, where I do the majority of the thinking and effortlessly move the body. Every so often my host will snap back or I will get distracted by my host's tics and habits (ex. her tendency of her cracking her finger joints carries over and I catch myself doing it too).

As a final note, if anyone else would like to try what I'm doing, feel free to directly post in this thread. Any comments and questions are welcome as well.

While this is not intended to be part of the experiment, I am currently performing reality checks in attempt to gain awareness in our dreams. If this develops, I will log about it.

For now, my goal is to spend some time playing free online games my host has not played before and play the games I enjoy. Currently, I am enjoying this puzzle game called Flockoban. https://le-slo.itch.io/flockoban My host enjoys this game a little bit, but she finds it very frustrating where I appreciate it because it's hard.

Start: 10:40 AM.

End: 11:10 AM.

I'm Ranger, GrayTheCat's cobud (tulpa), and I love hippos! I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron.

My other headmates have their own account now.

I'm too tired and distracted to continue playing this. I'm going to look for a different online game.

I found this other game called "Fillall". Like flockoban, I need more focus to play this. After a few minutes I decided it was best to end the attempt.

This interests Lance and I quite a bit. We are also doing full body possession (though we usually say co-fronting and one of us is main-front at that moment) thing and experience the same snap backs as well as the body's tics and habits (they annoyed me at first but when I'm main-front I find myself doing them too and he said "Ha! See, it's muscle memory! Blame our body!"). We also have had zero luck at intentionally disassociating from the body (either of us) and would like to try this too..

Can you explain your thought process out here a bit further? Explain what you are trying to accomplish and how you hope methods will do that?

So the idea is that it might be possible to switch using conditioning. If somebody does something while possessing for enough repetitions then eventually the body will become conditioned to them controling the body while doing the activity, and hopefully that will make the host disassociate and cause a switch. I already know that conditioning can cause switching due to firsthand experience with it, the main purpose of this experiment is to see if it will work on a system that has never switched before. If it does then this could be a much easier way to switch than the previous method of "just throw stuff at the wall and see if anything sticks".

I have a tulpa named Miela who I love very much.

Er? Well? Every morning when we wake up, I'm usually the one hopping (or dragging myself, whatever) out of bed then getting on here to see what's going on, reading PMs and working on replies. Ever since, I dunno, 30 days ago, that has been me every morning and only me. Lance isn't even interested in being up or looking at things till he has at least a cup of coffee in his hand. He has always been glued to the front with me though, grumbling how we could sleep in more and doesn't know how I do it, or just quiet but there.

How would we know if we switched like this anyway? Would he pretty much stop feeling the body's stuff and black out? I very much get hyper focused when I am typing on here and forget about him all the time but he says he has never "went away" or anything, just been bored or stared at my fingers flying on the keyboard.

Playing Fillall:

Start: 7:37 pm

7:50 pm - At this point I just feel frustrated. I'm stuck on level 7 and I'm not enjoying this. I'm going to try to pick something else.

I found this other game called "Cheap Golf" by pixeljam and it's hilarious. I hope to see the ending tomorrow.

I lost my progress on the Cheap Golf because Cat had to refresh the browser :(

I don't know if this is helping me switch or not, but I'm enjoying it.

I feel like something like rythem games or speedrunning would be more helpful since they would be repetitive and require focus, and also once you get good enough it is mostly reflexive rather than with conscious thought. That sounds like exactly the right recipe to switch. Changing what game you playing often probably won't help very much either.

Those are just some suggestions though
