Citizen Anon May 18, 2012 Share May 18, 2012 For those who have already gotten to this point, what and when did you get the first major sign of sentience from your tulpa? I've heard the "emotional response" is almost always going to be the first sign, but when this occurs seems to range from 20 to 60 hours into the creation process If you could also put down what you were working on when it happened, like personality, visualization, etc. that'd be great Name: Lyra Form: http://i.imgur.com/JjMxK.jpg Sentience: Emotional responses, occasional brief vocalization Currently doing: Personality & narration
ThatOneGuy May 18, 2012 Share May 18, 2012 I had just gotten the bare bones for personality laid down, which was the 'umbrella traits' that I had laid out when I first got emotion. As Clair's personality developed from the umbrella traits I eventually got original thoughts from her, and from there full on opinions. I ramble a lot. Anyways, to answer your question, I had just finished the umbrella traits for Clair when I got an emotional response (which was early in the personality process). Chupi May 18, 2012 Share May 18, 2012 I got what I think was my first emotional response 26 hours in, when narrating. I'm doing everything after personality in parallel with narration. I'm now about 40 hours in, and my tulpa Lyra has built a large but sloppy sand castle in my beach wonderland while I was away, and seems to be doing some occasional body movement while I'm around. ThatOneGuy May 18, 2012 Share May 18, 2012 Think of one trait that has many others that fall under it. That would be an umbrella trait. In my case, I used umbrella traits with a few minor traits under them and let the personality develop on it's own. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches. ThatOneGuy May 18, 2012 Share May 18, 2012 Logical, Introspective, Creative, Intellectual, Intuitive. From those five, many followed on their own, and thus I dubbed them umbrella traits. They evolved into everything from likes and dislikes to the rationalization process. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.
Avalanche May 20, 2012 Share May 20, 2012 I picked 5 major traits- Loyal, Practical, Friendly, Shy and Unsure and then developed them into 4 minor traits each, that expanded on each major trait but also added more depth. I plan to spend around an hour on each major trait and maybe 20 mins on each minor one, so that works out to be about 11-12 hours. frt
