How do you "open up" to your tulpa?

I've heard of people "opening up" all their memories, feelings ect to their Tulpae. I was wondering whether this is advisable or not and how it would affect my Tulpa, Saphira. If it is ok to do this, then how?

Thanks.

I personally think it's more than just okay to do so. I open myself in every way to Bud. There are no secrets between us. They are a part of you and they are someone who will understand you no matter what deep, dark secret you might have. Sometimes closing yourself off to your tulpa can even make your tulpa feel like you don't fully trust them. I personally see it as completely beneficial. It will bring the two of you closer than you ever thought possible.

Some people also keep this act in mind but hold off on it until their tulpa is more developed to make it a special moment to be shared between the two of them.

You can do this a number of ways. Simply think and know in your mind that they have all the access they want, or you can use some kind of symbolism if that helps to make if more real for the two of you.

If you go about the symbolism route, you really can do it what ever way you like.

Hand them a key that unlocks everything in the depths of your mind.

Show them the filing system where you keep your memories.

Open the door to your inner thoughts and let them know they have permission to explore beyond it.

The symbolic possibilities are endless. What ever makes sense to you will work.

Yes, it's fine. It's not like your tulpa is going to run out and tell everyone all of your secrets or something like that. The worst thing she could do is tease you about stuff (and, to be quite honest, my tulpa doesn't need my memories to find ways to make fun of me). And if you're worried that your tulpa might think less of you because of mistakes you've made, don't. Your tulpa will almost certainly be very understanding.

As for how to do it, I basically just told my tulpa that it's okay to look through my memories. Some people use symbolic imagery (such as putting a door in the wonderland marked "memories" that the tulpa can go through), but I think that simply telling your tulpa that it's okay to look through your history is the simplest thing to do.

Sex: female

I agree with both Ashmo and LordV, especially...

...this, emphatically. I had a difficult time with openness and trust a couple years ago, and it was a longstanding point of contention between me and my tulpa.

Ok, thank you. I think I'll go with the symbolism route, but also tell her that she has access to all my memories ect.

That sounds like it would be best if you're going to work with symbolism. She might even forget from time to time. So it would also do well to remind her.

You might even see a jump in her sentience and understanding after you do this. Since she will have access to everything you know and remember and even some things you don't consciously remember, her learning of things might become faster.
