jean-luc October 2, 2016 Share October 2, 2016 He's getting a message that says "Our systems detect that you may be a spammer and therefor you have been denied registration. If you feel this is a mistake, please contact the Administrator" There's no information on how, exactly, one should go about contacting "the Administrator". I also worry about other people who don't have someone already here to speak for them... I don't visit as often as I used to. If you want me to see something, make sure to quote a post of mine or ping me @jean-luc
Lucilyn October 3, 2016 Share October 3, 2016 This is what happens when you IP-ban people... I'm joking but since I have no idea why else that would happen I'm not stop IP-banning! Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points. I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal! Vos October 3, 2016 Share October 3, 2016 There's no information on how, exactly, one should go about contacting "the Administrator". We've had some people with this issue lately, and they've been getting in touch with the staff through the Contact Box and the IRC. If you want to contact an administrator directly in a situation like this, you could always just send them a private message or make a thread in Talk To Staff. Chupi October 5, 2016 Share October 5, 2016 It tests new users' IPs against a database of known spammers. I'm pretty sure I've disabled the checks now, but don't have a way to test it myself. It's been stopping too many legit users. tulpa001 October 5, 2016 Share October 5, 2016 It might be a compromised database. If it is constructed through reporting, it would be easy to abuse. Host comments in italics. Tulpa's log. Tulpa's guide.
Tewi October 5, 2016 Share October 5, 2016 This always happens with IP-banning. Always has and probably always will. IPs change. I know from personal experience that IP-banning is dangerous, I've seen many many occasions where people were accidentally IP-banned for no reason even when it wasn't a terribly large amount of IPs being banned in the first place. Guess you gotta think of something else. Hi, I'm Tewi, one of Luminesce's tulpas. I often switch to take care of things for the others. All I want is a simple, peaceful life. With my family.
