Fear of stunting a tulpas growth

Recommended Posts

When i spend time with Zeryx i get overwhelmingly happy and i can sense she does as well, however sometimes it becomes incredibly difficult to focus on visualizing her or even just imposing her presence as her own being within the wonderland, my intent to communicate gets muddled down with worry that im doing something wrong or perhaps she is scared. This leads to a loss of motivation similar to the hopelessness attributed to depression. im afraid of possibly stunting her growth because of my lack of self discipline

I've felt very similar a few times. Aside from trying to ignore anxiety about negative thoughts I think something good to do is get on a schedule. Set aside a certain time of the day specifically to forcing. Set up alarms and timers if you're really bad at staying to a schedule. Don't worry too much though, I think the most that will happen from not focusing enough is Zeryx will take more time to develop.

the walls between you and I are about to fall down

Cyril (that jerk) just spent five solid minutes laughing so hard he almost fell off his chair. He wants me to tell you... *sigh*... that if a lack of self-discipline did any permanent damage, he'd have all the mental capacity of a rotten potato.

Anyway, we're both of the opinion that a lack of routine and discipline will likely slow you down a bit, but not cause any permanent damage. Relax and don't worry too much.

(Cyril: forcing with a constantly worried host isn't much fun. Don't worry, it's okay (though mildly annoying) for the host to lose focus and occasionally just drift off in the middle of a sentence. You might want to try to just spend time in wonderland without any expectations. Not necessarily with your tulpa, just in wonderland in general. Get used to the feel of it, get used to the way you may drift in and out of it occasionally and learn to just roll with it.

A lot of people here are approaching forcing in a very formal manner, with set schedules and a lot of emphasis on absolute focus. This approach has a lot of obvious advantages, but if it is not working for you you might want to try being a bit less absolutely dead serious about forcing. Rigidity and formality does not suit everybody.

I would also like to note that a wonderland is not necessary for communication or forcing - if your visualization skills are not up to scratch and this is distressing you, you may want to try talking to your tulpa without the aid of a wonderland)

... huh, well, look who just took over my entire post. Anyway, I have to agree with my tupper here: As long as you are forcing, you're doing fine. Try to experiment and find something that works for you.
