How does your Tulpa fit in your religion?

Every major religion has some form of afterlife (Heaven, Hell, Paradise, Reincarnation, etc.). I'm curious as to how others believe their tulpa fits into their religion specifically regarding the afterlife. I have a few theories of my own, but would like to see what other more experienced individuals think before posting these.

I generally keep them separate, religion and tulpas. I haven't really thought about what would happen to them after the body dies, but I'm assuming we'd merge together or something before carrying on. I'm a "general pagan" with some Wiccan ways and stuff, I don't want to put a label on what I believe in. It's close to Wiccan anyway so...

I believe in reincarnation. Like I said before I think we'd merge, so we'd be reincarnated as one being instead of many separate ones. They are a part of me after all, and I think we share the soul.

Thank you for sharing this.

One of my theories actually involves being reincarnated together. People born with "multiple personality disorder" could just be a host and tulpa reincarnated together.

I personally don't believe in reincarnation. However I won't allow my personal beliefs to dismiss these possibilities.

Well, we're all various degrees of nonreligious, so I suppose it's not quite applicable.

It is our belief that tulpas are an entirely psychological phenomenon, and all the other blah blah atheist "There are no souls" whatever.

Doc: Childhood friend turned servitor gone rogue turned host who's bad at feeling emotions.

Meti: Overly lewd Tupper.

CT, who is also called Jeremy: Original personality whose default emotion is anger.

Hey I just finished reading your "making a tulpa for science".

While I understand many aren't religious and in turn don't believe in an afterlife I have found quite a few people on here mention their religions.

My reason for making this thread was prompted by a worry that when i die, my tulpa my not exist any longer. I haven't made my tulpa yet and this fear has brought me to a point where I am questioning whether i should or not. To make something i would share such a strong emotional connection with, knowing that in my death it would cease to exist as I continue on, seems wrong.

I do appreciate your input and wish you luck on your own journey.

Your tulpa is a process, not a hallucination. They have presence in your mind the same type as your core identity. They can't and won't stop existing until you stop--Or to be more accurate, the manner in which they could cease is the same as the manner in which you could cease.

As many believe, your core identity may not survive death. But in such a case, either a tulpa must have their own soul, or shares yours.

But think about what a soul is. It is that thing that makes you important. So if a tulpa has no soul, they aren't important. There is key evidence in the way in which you interact with the world, in your core identity, that you have a soul of this type. You feel yourself, you assert your rights. You have faith, and spiritual experiences, you demonstrate compassion and guilt. You demonstrate fear. You can look for these same signs in a tulpa's core identity. If they don't have them, then it does not matter if they don't survive.

In Buddhism, Sprul-pa is a word that means spiritual emanation. It is from a family of related ideas. Buddhists believe in the illusion of multiplicity. Everything is actually one. A logical consequence of this is you can actually create other people just by thinking about it exactly the right way and manipulating this illusion. This, it is heavily connected to how reincarnation works. Death is part of the illusion of separation. Time is also part of the illusion of separation. So you can even reincarnate before you die. Singularity is part of the illusion. You can split your essence into two complete people. And depending how you do it, one of them could get a actual brand new physical body. Or the split could be more like your child. Or maybe it is just an aide to computation.

Thank you for this. This is very interesting and I will definitely research this more.

I had gone over the idea that a tulpa may have a soul separate from the host. I am a Christian, so i have looked to the Bible for answers to this. In Genesis 2:21-22, it talks about how God created Eve from Adam. Now we don't have the same power as God but we are made in his likeness. So while we can not give the "breath of life" we might be able to create things from ourselves in this same manner, but confined to a spiritual/mental level.

I apologize if any of this is offensive to anyone. It is not my intent to push any of my ideas or beliefs on others. I simply wish to share my thoughts and hear the thoughts of others on this matter.

I don't think even that much is necessary. I believe the belief goes that God, or some process started by God, implants a soul into a fetus at approximately two weeks, with some variation in belief between branches. This is where the word conception comes from.

If this belief is true, then what would happen with tulpas is similar. At some point, the thoughtform would become implanted with a soul, in a similar manner.

Alternative belief systems maintain that a soul is not a constant and develops over time. Such systems must necessarily hold that it is at least possible for some people to be born without a soul, but they will end up with one as they go through those life events that cause spiritual growth.

This makes sense. However, if it was solely God placing the soul in the thought-form, then I would think it would be much easier for the thought form to become independent from the host. I think the act of forcing is somehow strongly connected to this act of "soul implantation".

I personally follow Chaos Magick / Discordian teachings and have some personal beliefs about it. Ivy in my system follows the witchcraft side of things more but personally considers herself to be practicing a form of Chaos Magick too. The other two subscribe to nothing.

My personal belief in the afterlife is transferring to a place not unlike here. It may hold different laws and social structures or it may be a lawless wasteland. I have no idea what form I may possess. I believe my tulpa to be separate from me, and believe that they will be separate from me in this new world/realm.
