RE: Tulpa's Complete DIY Guide to Tulpamancy
This guide was a huge aid in helping me understand tulpas and how the whole process works. Other guides I found were either much smaller and less detailed, or focused on one very specific method and didn't mention anything else, which doesn't really help for a process that's different for everyone.
This guide however contains a huge amount of useful information, guides and exercises, and I would highly recommend it to any newcomers.
Thanks for the awesome guide!  Big Grin

Aww; you're making me blush.

It makes me nervous making major revisions to the guide. This will probably be my fourth complete rewrite of the introduction. This one's probably going to be controversial (what's new). But the old one apparently wasn't doing it for some people. Also, anyone who did work on translating, or read it in the past, won't be aware of the many often small yet careful changes.

@yahyakun: Interesting. That's association, not possession.

Zodiac signs are a notoriously bad predictor of personality, so it is actually interesting that she is a typical Leo. Due to psychological feedback effects, your familiarity with astrology should increase the effect of astrology on both your personalities.

Bump.

Apparently version 4.0 is out.

Man, I really hope it's done this time. Also, it's like 20% more scientific now.

RE: Tulpa's Complete DIY Guide to Tulpamancy
Hey, I got a question.

So I'm reading the part of your guide that explains Personality Forcing. Here's that passage that contains my question

Quote:Some things to try here: Listen to relaxing music, quiet white, pink, or red noise, rain sounds, or as seems to be popular with some, binaural beats. Do it right before bed, and try to start dreaming while forcing. Do it super fast on your lunch break, or on the bus. Walk around in your wonderland while forcing, or play around with the furniture. Ask your tulpa questions, as long as you don’t mind not getting a reply. And force in the dark.

And force in the dark.

My question is, why? What's the difference in the light? I can see that it might be a bit hard to focus with a bright light in one's face... maybe?

The text is largely a collection of advice I heard from other guides and sources and the exercises we did while I was tulpaforced. Forcing in the dark was one of them.

I can't exactly remember why it was suggested, but the odds are good that it will either work better or worse than forcing in a bright area. Experimentation is a key virtue to successful tulpaforcing.
