How do I even start?

Please forgive me if this has been said about a million times but I'm still new to all this, Honestly, I don't know where to start, I'm trying to start with a voice in my head that'll automatically reply back. I'm desperate to have a companion who knows my memories so I could get study help and I kind of picture it like a shikigami. Here what i've attempted, I started talking to myself with the other person in the voice I want to match my soon to be tulpa, and try to picture them there somewhere in the room. I understand I'll be spending hundreds of hours on it but I need to know

A) What I should be doing

B) How will I know if its working?

C) Whats Next?

D) Repeat

I mean its very confusing, when it says to make a wonderland is that you're made up happy place in your head like a day dream? and "Input feelings?" I'm willing to do whatever it takes but I wish I could find a more specific guide.

I would love and appreciate any help from you guys.

Have you read the guides yet in the guides section in this website? You really should if you haven't. You shouldn't do imposition until you can visualize them very well. Also parroting is said to be pretty bad, since your making up their answers. What you should do is narration, where it's an open-ended conversation. First you should do personality, guides should elaborate on this. Personality is actually optional but you can reach sentience faster. Another thing to do is believe their sentient from the beginning, it really helps. After you do this, you should work on getting there form down, then working on to your senses with your mind's eye. After being able to see them well in your mind's eye, work on touch and smell. There's more but I'll stop here, read the guides.

I have 10 tulpas, but I'm only actively working on Reah, my first tulpa currently.

Read the guides, read some progress reports. Figure out what method suits you best, mix and match to your heart's content.

A. Figure out who your tulpa is. Write down some traits or a little description. Introduce your tulpa to him or herself. Basically sit and tell him/her who they are. Focus individually on a trait you chose and talk about it. Search personality and hear how other people have done this.

B. You will know. You will eventually get some responses and will notice your tulpa's presence. It's awesome.

C. Work on his/her form

D. Narrate all the time. By narrate, I mean talk to your tulpa. Just tell your tulpa about what you are doing, why you are doing it, what's up with your life, whatever you want. Talk.

The reason the guides aren't specific is because it is a VERY individual process. People have been able to make tulpas without wonderlands or even without working on personality. Some people have made tulpas quickly, others take more time. You just work on it and do what works for you.

I've been reading but I'm just having troubles with a solid starting point. I felt I've made absolutely no progress. Even the dummy guide is not specific enough for me. Its telling me its exaughing but what am I supposed to be doing? relaxing in a quiet room saying "Ok, I want my tulpa to like this and hate this...?" I mean "I turned this all into a sort of ball and focuses on each part of the personality until I knew it back to front." What does that mean? Imagine a ball is in your hand and describe it? Maybe Im just trying too hard so I can't comprehend anything. sorry If im frustrating right now, Im just really determined.

Individual process huh? I mean I could talk to the air for a while and tell it what its going to be and still feel like I'm not making any progress nor do I expect it to fatigue me or give me a headache? Should I have more confidence and press on?

Confidence is key, yes. Doubt and constantly checking is just going to slow you down. Just go forward.

Your visualization is going to suck at first. You are going to struggle to form personality.

Which method should you pick? Up to you. I did a bit of a mix of both.

Biggest tip: Start acting like your tulpa already exists. No don't imagine your tulpa talking and moving, but start treating your tulpa as if he/she is sentient. Talk to your tulpa, not to 'thin air'. You just can't see your tulpa well yet, that's okay.

Some people get headaches, some people don't. Don't worry about it.

Relax and have fun.

The funny thing is since I was a kid I'd alway picture someone there since my home life was bad. I'd tried to imagine she was real but she was out in the distance staring at me. This was years and years ago, basically you're suggesting to treat this as an imaginary friend so to speak? I'm going to sit in a dark room picture her there and just start talking to her? Will this work?

Don't start picturing her into your environment just yet. Just imagine she's in your head listening to what you say. Also when your talking to her, feel as if your talking to her, not just to yourself. Also, it doesn't have to be a dark room, just anywhere really. Narration could be in your head or out loud. I do it in my head since I have family around most of the time.

Well, I am only about 8 hours in but I can tell you how I started.

I first imagined nothing but a blackness devoid of anything. Then I imagined a silhouette of a person, basically just an outline of a human. Also, anytime I work on her I go to this void and I always feel a slight pressure on the top of my head. I like to think this means I am doing it right. This outline was my tulpa at first while I started with her personality. I tried to fill my tulpa with traits and whatnot, I imagined them going into her and she absorbed them. I always imagine myself in front of her looking at her in first person. For a total of maybe 5hours so far I have worked on her personality. While I was working on personality a name popped into my head a few hours into it. I started calling my tulpa Sarah, as it was the first thing that I thought of to call it other than tulpa.

Now I have started to visualize her. I started with the right arm. I imagined how her hands should look, then moved on to her arms and the rest of her body. As I visualized how she should look the outline filled in. I concentrated for about 1hour straight while I visualized how she should look. I got a pretty bad headache and had to stop, but anytime I think of her I can see her clearly. Also I think headaches are supposed to be a good indication that your doing something right and I always get them when I have a session.

I just got done with a session that lasted about 30 minutes. During this session I tried to visualize her some more and did some narrating. During this time I thought of something I have done in the past that really depressed me, and she leaned in and hugged my imaginary self in. I am taking this as a sign she is becoming sentient.

That sounds good, so about 3 hours a day just pretend i'm talking to my tulpa, don't make the other side of the conversation and after 3-50 hours should I expect a reaction from it?

You got the idea. With the reaction, it could be from a emotional response, head pressures, or a vocal response. Remember to work on form and personality.
