I am developing a tulpa forcing application called “tulpaForge”. I am nearly done planning it out, but I would like some feedback and feature suggestions.

The desktop version will be written in Java so that it will be OS independent.

I will open source the project after the phase 1 release.

I will begin mobile development at phase 3. android and iOS, and if someone wants to port it to windows phone, then that too. It will be parallel to desktop development, but will lag slightly behind.

If everything goes right and there is high demand for it, I will see about integrating it into a website and having a syncing feature between mobile and desktop. (this probably wouldn’t happen for a while)

So first let me introduce the main modules:

:The Forge:

This is where you can create a new tulpa profile or select an existing profile.

:Tulpa Profile:

This contains the tulpa name(renamable), journal, personality trait list, picture gallery for form, template settings, and forcing session settings.

:Journal:

This keeps a record of your progress. Data will be added automatically in some instances, but will also have areas for user input. The journal can be organized by day, week, or month. It can export the entries in plain text, or have them formated.

:Personality Traits Organizer:

Displays all of the personality traits. The traits can be grouped together by whatever custom grouping the user decides upon. The traits will be color coded based on their status(not started, in progress, completed). double clicking a trait will show details about it, including open ended questions that the user can fill out (see FAQ man’s trait template). Images can be imported and associated with a particular trait.

:Personality Builder:

A walkthrough that aids in the discovery and selection of personality traits. Double clicking a desired trait will add it to that tulpa’s trait list.

:Forcing Session Manager:

This module allows the user to set up a highly customizable timer that supports intervals and infinite looping, can play audio files, play a chime or alarm at the end of each interval, and can associate traits to intervals.

At the end of the session, this module sends the raw session data to the tulpa profile, where it is then edited depend on what template is being used, and logged in the journal. It also records your progress with personality traits if you assigned any to this session

:Wonderland Map:

Contains a picture gallery of images that resemble your wonderland.

Contains the wonderland map. The map is an image with links to other images (representing doors or portals). The image must be created by the user and imported.

Also has it’s own journal for recording general wonderland antics.

While that doesn’t cover all the features of the modules, it highlights the most important ones. Below are the development phases.

Phase 1: Base

Tulpa Profile

The Forge

Personality Traits Organizer

Journal

Forcing Session Manager

Phase 2: Begin open source

Personality Builder

Wonderland Map

Templates (default and research)

plain text exporting

Phase 3: begin mobile development

Add support for custom, user-made templates

file exporting

file backup

linking to guides and resources

Phase 4: uplanned

There is a lot more detail that can be better explained with some prototype pictures, so I will be working on those this week.

I was gonna say that.

However, while cool, it's not something I think I would personally use. But I'm sure plenty of others will really enjoy it. Keep up the good work.

"If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."

That sounds pretty useful, but I wonder what would be the demand for it? Keep in mind, there are roughly two-thousand members; some of which may not even be active. I would definitely use it for one, and possibly make my own alterations when it becomes open source.

And then it cuts to a scene where you're sitting in a padded cell.

I think you're an idiot if you expect high demand for this shit. This guy (you) didn't even post what the fuck your credentials are. Do you expect to just learn how to code java like that, especially with the stuff you have planned? You should really try and talk with another community, not all of us code.

-Helix.

Perhaps your spacing could be better? Otherwise it sounds cool!

-Pixel

Will this be somehow integrated with the site itself? Perhaps you could talk to Pleeb about embedding an application to read a possibly proprietary file type of some sort? It seems good otherwise. Do you have a timeline of some sort for when you expect this to be completed?

-Solace

[align=center]Hi there! If you've stumbled across this it means...I don't know what it means. But now that you're here, you can now know that this is what Helix, Solace and I will use to post. We're Jimmy's tulpas, by the way!

Not sure how that pic is relevant.

@Helix: You seem to be confused. I'm simply asking for opinions and feedback on the feature list, not for people to join in (although they are more than welcome once it goes open source). I'm plenty competent when it comes to programming. I don't know what you are making such a big fuss about.

@Pixel: In all honesty, I was a bit rushed when typing this up. I would've liked to spend a bit more time on the formatting and flow, but the important thing is that it gets the message across.

@Solace: I haven't talked to Pleeb about that yet, but I plan to. Once I'm further into development, I will know more.

As far as a timeline goes, it's not so simple. I hope to finish with the requirements elicitation within two weeks (which includes prototyping -> feedback -> revision -> repeat). Once that's done, I can begin writing out the specifications for all the features, and then work on class diagrams and the like. Then I might have an idea of how long until the first release.

Programming's not that hard, and the feature list he posted sounds very achievable. No need to be rude.

I don't know how useful this would be for me personally, but I can see how others might like it. Good luck, OP!
