Audio Imposition: How long did it take you, and how did you achieve it?

As my tulpa's thoughtvoice has grown stronger and stronger over the past few days, I decided it was time to at least make a passing attempt at audio imposition. I threw some headphones with some white noise on and sat down, simply telling my tulpa to speak. In her thoghtvoice she told me that she was ready to impose audibly and I tried my hardest to hear her but I just can't do it. She is still very young so I am not super discouraged by this failed attempt but I came here to ask anyway, how long did it take you to achieve audio imposition? How hard is it? What do I have to do to make it work? Any tips in general?

Hmm.

Well, I've always had a very vivid imagination, and I'm prone to hallucinations as is. I just tried to amplify my Tulpa's mindvoice and believe it was real. I focused on the sound of it for as much as I could. After a while of doing that, ba-da-boom! Audio imposed. B)

Maybe (if doing that doesn't work) you could ask your Tulpa to talk for as long as she can and try to focus on listening completely? That might help a little bit.

I have never imposed Melian or heard her audibly with my ears. I don't need to. I can hear her loud and clear in my head. I still don't understand why audible imposition is even necessary.

Well, to be fair, I feel like you and Melian have a bit of a special relationship where imposition may not be a desired goal (correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I read somewhere that you refer to her as a dreamform). If I'm wrong, my bad. Though it is definitely worth mentioning that you two have been with each other for a LONG period of time, something I feel most users don't have, especially ones like myself. My tulpa has the desire to be as real as possible, so that includes imposition of all kinds. Imposition I guess adds to the realness factor of a tulpa, and I feel like some people who have a hard time talking through mindvoice would hope that imposition helps with communication as well as thought separation and parallel processing.

I've never struggled with audio imposition, it just came natural, sometimes he speaks as if he's beside me or in another room, I thought it was supposed to be that way until I joined this community, I guess it has a lot to do with belief since I believe he is some kind of entity who's able to be seen and heard and able to go wherever he want.

Yes, you are right. I am sorry. I should never go online onto the forums after working all day Saturday. I tend to be grumpy and a bit abrupt and snippy. What your saying totally makes sense! That is actually very cool. I see it as essentially the same thing, just a difference in emphasis on how you imagine it.

Let me put it this way, you're not actually really hearing your tulpa via sound waves. So it is actually still a mind voice. It is just being perceived in a novel way, which is actually kinda neat and may work better for some.

Something that should have been obvious to me suddenly occurred to me this morning. At its most basic level, audio imposition and mindvoice are pretty much the same thing, IMAGINARY. You guys are doing the same thing I am doing with Melian, only emphasizing the idea that you hear it with your ears. Duh! Why didn't I think about that before? Imposition is just mindvoce or mental visualization taken to it's ultimate.

I keep saying things like "I don't need imposition because I imagine so well." If you think about it, that statement is almost illogical considering that imposition is the ultimate in imagination. Better for me to say "I am satisfied with my current level of visualization and don't want to make the effort to improve it."

Imposition in general is the same way. You're not actually seeing your tulpa, you're just tricking your mind into believing you are, and practicing making it clear and believable to your mind. Audio's the same I suppose, but I really never had any interest in audio imposition. It sort of just.. happens naturally when you visually impose. It doesn't feel like they're talking from right inside my head like normal, so I guess you could call that some level of audio imposition. It's a natural progression as you get better at visual imposition, so I never worried about it too much.

Yeah no, just like how lots of people come here with perfect visualization skills and are surprised when a lot of us can't visualize anything at all. Audio imposition is tricking your brain into believing the source of audio is coming from a certain area, and I imagine it's just as hard to achieve as visual imposition. That is, learning to dissociate the mind's-eye senses and treat them as real. But I still believe that they go hand in hand, and that if you can trick your mind into believing your tulpa is five feet away from you, you're already going to start hearing their mindvoice as if it's over there.

Unless you get paranoid about it and think of a pink elephant when I specifically tell you not to. I could see focusing on your tulpa's voice's origin messing with your ability to dissociate it. Relax and let it happen, guys.

I have to learn to not to risk insult to my visualization challenged buddies, by implying perhaps that I am somehow more talented in brain power. After all, many of them have achieved things far beyond what I have done through sheer determination and with less to start with. What is more admirable, a super imaginative guy who accidentally makes a single semi-autonomous thoughtform, or a visualization challenged person who succeeds in creating multiple fully autonomous tulpas that can switch, possess and have imposition?

EDIT: BTW I am not exactly a rocket scientist really and people on this forum constantly amaze me with their demonstration of intellectual reasoning, knowledge and logic.

Wow, are you referring to yourself and I? Give yourself more credit and give me less, because we never spent more than a few minutes messing around with possession. We're #Guideless

sorry

so we did things as seemed logical to us, and possession didn't seem to matter when you could proxy or switch instead. I mean, I really have spent literally a few minutes practicing. I was able to have Reisen's intent control the body, but didn't get to the point of dissociation where you feel detached from the body part, more of a middle ground.

Anyway.. Accidentally is a strong word. My tulpas were accidents too. You spent a lot of time creating something unique to you, just because it doesn't fit our norms doesn't mean you didn't accomplish something. Plus the autonomy seems a matter of morals and beliefs rather than skill in this case. PLUS you've said yourself you have no interest whatsoever in switching/possessing/imposing, that can't be held over you. You're a unique case with an interest in others' experiences sharing what you can.

Suuuper anyways, I don't know what else there is to say about audio imposition. The dissociation happens for me automatically once I get my brain to believe my tulpas are a distance from me. I'm pretty good with voices of people I know, but my tulpas don't have distinct voices (their mindvoices have become almost true voices, but as it came from mindvoice the audio part changes with time) so I can't really "practice" audio imposition. All I care about is that when Flandre walks across the living room and speaks, my brain treats her like she's over there. I hear her perfectly fine because she's speaking in my mind, but she doesn't feel like she's in my head, physically or audibly. Anything more advanced than that doesn't interest me.

@Luminesce

There are moments when I wish there were hug emoticons on this forum. LOL It would be the best response, according to Melian.
