Intrusive mental images

Whenever I tulpaforce or narrate, flashes of images keep popping up in my mind seemingly at random, but in some I can discern some relation to what I'm narrating about. Sometimes, however, it's absolutely surprising and it makes me wonder whence and why that particular image came up. Sometimes, it just takes me some time to figure out the association. I should note that this phenomenon is in no way related to hypnagogia. It occurs even when I'm wide-awake; plus, it's considerably different.

I'm not sure whether these visions have always been present and only recently did I start noticing them — I admit I let my mind wander too often — or whether they're related to the process of creating a tulpa. That's why I'd like to ask you if you've been having similar experiences.

Additional info: The images are usually memories of places; some are of fairly insignificant places I visited many years ago, and only once, and haven't even thought of since. Others come from various games I've played, and even less frequent are imaginary places I've never seen before, weird cloud-like shapes and nebulae, and various buildings.

Well, it's not exactly the same, but since I started tulpaforcing, I started remembering things completely random (places, names of people I hadn't seen for years, etc.). I don't think is strange, since you are working on your subconscious, and all that info is there.

Probably, the difference between you and me is that you have a better visual memory, but we are probably facing the same thing. Nothing to worry about.

This is normal. Odds are that you've never had to hold your mind on a particular subject for long stretches of time. It's natural for these images to be appearing and you shouldn't be worried about it.

Those images were most likely appearing in your head already, you just weren't paying them any attention. At all.

If they distract your forcing, just stop until they go away.

They are indeed intrusive thoughts. Don't try to keep them away or anything, either. Just let them roll in, recognize them as a thought that's relatively useless and unimportant, and let the roll away.

Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.
