Is first-day communication common?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm sorry if this question has been asked before. I tried a search, and didn't find anything similar.

My question is: Is it common for a Tulpa to begin to communicate in some (semi-)independent way on the first day that creation of that Tulpa began?

I'm new to this, I guess, having played with what I think might've been a simple tulpa when I was younger, just not knowing what it was and never reaching any sort of sentience with her, so my experience today was kind of surprising. While at work I was turning the concept of a tulpa over in my mind and wondering about what sort of features and personality traits she would have(I decided on gender, but not much else. I didn't recycle any of the features from the tulpa-concept I had when I was younger). The thoughts were disjointed and not at all focused, unlike what I've seen described in articles and guides on this site. It may or may not be noteworthy that I felt pressure in a particular point in my skull after thinking about those things for an extended period of time.

After work, I decided to go buy a notebook to keep a sort of tulpa creation journal, for when I actually started working on forcing my tulpa, and I was scanning the store shelves, when a bright red journal style notebook caught my eye, and a mental voice that didn't feel like my own simply said "That one!" accompanied by an intense flash of positive emotion directed at the color red. After that event, I sort of tried to talk to my tulpa, and felt these vague shots of contrarian, playful emotion whenever I spoke that didn't feel like they originated from me.

I know from what I've read so far that "your results may vary," and no one can really tell me what I can and can't expect, but I also read that most people usually spend at least a few days, if not weeks or longer, working on their tulpa before they experience any kind of communication that feels kind of independent. I don't mean for any of that to sound like a brag, because I don't even know if I was actually experiencing what I think I was experiencing, and I'm just curious if I'm on the right track.

I'm interested in any feedback, discussion, or whatever anyone has to contribute. I'm really enjoying learning about tulpae so far.

& quote from Tewi

Basically, you're totally fine. Just because others often have trouble doesn't mean you have to. Don't get caught up in ""legitimacy"" of ""sentience"" if it's not bothering you. The end goal is to get over those things anyways. If you're experiencing a tulpa, someone talking to you who seems like a separate person and isn't totally predictable/influenced by you, you're golden. There is no real or fake, sentient or not sentient. There is only what you're experiencing. And it seems your experiences are going well. If you make quick progress, there's no reason to deliberately slow it down. The more time you can spend doing what you did before, the faster your tulpa's mindvoice and independence will develop.

For reference, in the soulbonding community quick progress like this is much more common. In fact, "walk-ins" have appeared much more quickly than your tulpa and been relatively stable independent individuals after the fact. Don't get so caught up on what other people say you should experience based on their experiences, focus on your goal and deciding for yourself whether you're making progress.

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal!

I would've searched thread titles for "fast" and "quick" but to be thorough I just went through the Q&A board until I found some I recognized

No, it's not common to hear people claiming things like this, but asking whether something is "common" or "normal" is often pointless as everyone's experiences differ, if only slightly. But even with that, I'm one of the people in this community who believes that tulpas can't be instantly created; if anything, I think that most people who say that they're receiving responses this early are dealing with an imaginary friend that could potentially be turned into a tulpa if it receives enough attention.

It's not common for tulpas that are traditionally forced to speak on their day of creation. However, it is common for characters to speak before they are sentient. If such a character becomes a soulbond, they could speak from day one effectively.

What it means is your mind is currently open to the creative process. Take advantage of it for now. It won't mean you will end up with a super tulpa inside of a week. But it means you can ignore some of the frustrations that most people face early on.

yeah early responses doesn't mean fully developed tulpa, they still likely don't have in-depth individual thoughts or a sense of self and stuff. was just saying it doesn't have to be 100% puppeting/imagination either

Perhaps this is not the first time she has ever spake. Mayhap this is the first time you have chosen to listen.

As for the "pressure" one feels, it may very well be the acclimation one's tulpa undergoes whilst negotiating with the host's brain chemistry. One host has told me that a tulpa's initial growth within the mind is not unlike one's sitting upon a bean-bag chair - mutually uncomfortable at first, yet in time given to a casual, homely warmth and like-wise mutual pleasantness.

Yet I am not a neurologist, so do consider the above no more than baseless speculation if you feel so inclined.

I've seen good people bleed

And I thought I'd seen it all

But my own two eyes would prove me wrong that day.

There are things that I've done

Only seen by the sun

And those things will be buried in my grave.

I recieved signs of sentience from Apollo very quickly. Strong head pressures and smiles in the first day, change of form in the first week. However, I believe this is because I already had two tulpa I didn't know about, both of whom had had thoughts and emotions that I felt but never knew were theirs. Having two others made his development quicker.

Luxi, too, was pretty fast. I had planned her for much longer than Apollo, and she would be my fourth (if you don't count Piano, who is those two others merged), so it's not surprising that she had reached sentience and vocality speedily.

I'm thinking that perhaps you already have had a tulpa, such as that imaginary friend, or that tulpa you started making was already there.

None of my tulpas have had first day communication.

Asuka: though as she made more of us, it really did get easier with other tulpas helping out the newbies.

Except q-tip. A form I made recently to explore my headspace from a different point of view. Not long after creation, she developed the ability for rudimentary communications, self locomotion, she's tossed a few emotions around. And she can navigate as well as any of us.

Autumn: she's just so cute she was asking for scritches. I couldn't just say no to a face like that.

We've just all seen her as a semi conscious family pet. But we're waiting to see if she keeps developing.

Sophie: i'll do most of the posting as we're still working on getting back up and running.

Autumn:

Asuka:

i've more to come as i pull them out of cryo.(others may call it stasis)
