Just Another Progress Report

Number8Forever

Recommended Posts

Well... I'll just start with the basics. I'm Number8Forever. I've been wanting to create a tupla for around 2 weeks, now. It's been wishy-washy so far. I've forced once, and that made me happy, but I've not had much motivation for doing it again. Don't misunderstand, I have a strong desire to have a tulpa, I just can't get motivated enough to do it, which is one of the reasons I think having a tulpa would prove beneficial.

So, that's why I've decided to made this progress report. I feel as though having the expectation from others to force will give me enough motivation to actually preform the task.

As to why I want to make a tulpa. I'm a rather shut-in person. I'm on my computer for 8+ hours a day just wasting my time. It's had a negative impact on my grades, health, and relationships with my family. I have basically zero motivation to do anything productive. And I just want to break out of it. So, I plan on creating a tulpa who is capable of helping me do that. I have some other reasons for creating a tulpa, the desire of a close, life-long companion being a close second.

Her name is Jane. She's a diligent worker, very devoted to what she puts her mind towards. She is goal-oriented and decisive. Her motivation in life is to be the best she can be, and help others do the same. She cares a lot about other people. She is very honest, and expects honesty in return.

Her other traits include being: rational, observant, playful, and brash.

For the intents and purposes of this guide, I will be calling today, December 1st, "Day 1". Now, I'm going to be attempting to force after posting this, and will post the results when I finish. Any and all feedback is appreciated.

Anyways, welcome to the community, and good luck with Jane!

Day 1:

So, I've just spent the last 20 minutes forcing. If you can call it that. I just basically preformed the "Greeting Stage" described in Methos' "May The Force Be With You" guide. I assured Jane that all this uncertainty was behind us, and that I will see her creation through, to the end. I then described her personality as described above, without going into specifics. I plan on having each forcing "session" focus on one of the traits in particular, and how it affects her and links to the other traits and overall her motivation in life.

It's late where I am, so I'm going to cut off this post here, but tomorrow(today!), I'll describe my wonderland as it is now, and, of course, force.

Also, thanks. And good luck with your (as far as I can see) nameless tulpa, as well.

It's a little late, but here, I'll describe my wonderland in its current state.

It's a fairly large room, with stone walls. The whole room has a very "western-style castle" feel to it. On one of the walls, a fireplace, gently crackling and filling the room with heat and light. To its left, an oak door. To its right, a piano made of wood. On the wall clock-wise to it is a rather impressive bookshelf, filled with any kind of story imaginable, and giving off the musky scent of old books. On its right, another door, identical to the first. The next wall over houses a simple bed and quilt, as well as a sturdy desk. On the last wall, grand windows let in the sunrise and open up the room to nature. In front of the fire lies a circular rug, where two high-backed chairs sit, with a small table between them.

tl;dr : Old room with lots to do, and atmosphere.

I can write it all down on paper, but its hard to imagine myself and my tulpa there. My mind keeps drifting off to other thoughts (I'm looking at you, Binding of Isaac), so I usually just narrate while my mind's eye just sees what it wants to. Is this a bad thing at this point? Will it hurt the development of my tulpa?

Now, to begin forcing. I'll just add the results onto this instead of replying again. Tonight, I plan on elaborating on the persistent trait. We'll see how it goes.

Day 2: Worked on honest/trusting and goal-oriented traits. Went into detail about how each trait would affect their lives and interaction with people. No response from the tulpa. I feel like I'm not really doing it right sometimes. I'll just have to read some more guides and other peoples' progress reports.

Day 3: Couldn't force much, kept nodding off. Note to self: Need more sleep.

Don't expect much of a response from your tulpa this early, but listen for one. Always assume sentience from day 1, though

Yeah pretty much what Tupplenaw said. Keep at it and don't expect instant progress - this stuff takes time and patience, if you find active forcing is difficult to get into try doing as much narrating as possible - just talking about what your doing, or your thoughts on something etc etc. It's maybe not as powerful as active forcing but it's easier to do with a low drive or motivation. 'Course both is even better!
