Markku's Tulpalog

... oh hey first post

So, I found out about tulpae somewhere on 4chan (I'm afraid I can't remember which board) and I thought "hm, sounds interesting." I did a ton of research, and started the next day. I did the typical introductory session, blah blah, spent about an hour or two on that. So far, I'm about five hours in, and I've been sticking to half-hour sessions. I narrate almost every chance I get if I remember to.

So, the tulpa. It's a female, named Melodie, I haven't truly worked on the visualization of the form, but I have a general idea of what I want it to be. She is going to be a human. Her personality traits are basically as follows:

  • Extroverted/Outgoing
  • Loyal
  • Understanding
  • Carefree
  • Kind
  • Slightly reckless
  • Fun-Loving
  • Compassionate
  • Playful
  • Creative
  • Spontaneous
  • Generous
  • Optimistic

Right now, that's all I have, and all I plan to have. I wanna leave her a lot of room to deviate.

I haven't experienced any true problems with parroting yet. I've felt something that could be considered an emotional response, but I have my doubts because I'm in so early.

SO YEAH THAT'S IT entry coming tomorrow because I can't concentrate anymore tonight.

WOW GUYS I'M SO GOOD AT KEEPING LOGS

fuck

Well, a ton of things have happened. I've been forcing pretty much every day that I can for as long as I feel that I can. Which I assume is a good thing.

I felt like my tulpa started to dislike the name Melodie, so during one of my sessions I decided to change her name. I brought up a couple different names. We eventually settled on Opal, since that got the strongest emotional response.

I've stopped logging hours. I kinda find it useless to dwell on time, I just go with whatever I can do.

Opal has gained some partial sentience, and she has responded to many of my attempts at starting conversation, but only in a mental voice. It makes sense, since I've been narrating to her in my head instead of out loud. I do plan on changing that soon, however.

For now, I'm working on a mix of visualization and narration. I've been using static noise to help with the auditory part of sentience, and so far I've received nothing. That's to be expected though, since I don't believe I've been at it very long.

Um, I do believe that's it.

TL;DR for you lazy bastards: Changed name from Melodie to Opal, partial sentience and responses, working on visualization and narration, hopefully can keep this updated.

I don't know what happened, I was reading your post and I was almost finished, then I found myself on the tl;dr.

Good job on the name, mine still doesn't have a name and I don't think it helps to say "hey tulpa". I want her to have a good name but I don't want to just force it on her.

What I've gathered:

Gender: female

Name: Haruka(japanese for explained reasons)

Time: 2 hours(probably)

@Faceache: I would suggest maybe using a placeholder name? I dunno, something basic but you wouldn't mind keeping around. Then once your tulpa becomes developed enough, let them choose the name. Unless you have a specific name or something that you would like them to have.

Well, today, I did a typical session for somewhere between half an hour to an hour.

I feel ridiculously ill today, so I wasn't able to do much.

I mostly worked on visualization. Opal's slowly becoming more clear in my head, but I can't seem to visualize her in a different outfit.

It's kinda frustrating, but I'm sure I'll get over that soon.

I've also been narrating to her pretty much all day, which is good. Normally I'll forget and not narrate to her for a long while then I'll suddenly remember, which I don't think is good.

Yeah, I was thinking about it earlier and figured "Fukkit, she'll probably think her own."

So I'll geuss……haruka! (for now, after I put the six periods I sat here for about two minutes to think about it) Since I'm a fan of gorillaz and Noodle is pretty cool, I'll use her voice actress' name until she chooses one for her own, or decides to keep it.

Sounds good. Gorillaz are pretty chill.

I haven't updated in a bit because well ~nothing happened~

I've been sticking to my routine, which is getting into the wonderland, finding Opal, and taking her to either work on visualization, or stay there and narrate to her as much as I possibly can muster, to make up for the times that I forget.

Opal's slowly starting to gain her own distinguishable voice, and by slowly I mean SLOWLY. It's only slightly different from my own, not enough to say what exactly about it is different, but... you get the point.

yay update hopefully I'll come back with more fascinating news next time
