Meditation AND First Steps

I'm having a hard time knowing when I'm in a deep enough thought to start working on personality, or if I'm still not where I should be. It takes me about 5-10 minutes, and my whole body gets relaxed and I get aroused. I also get my whole body feeling pleasure for about a dozen seconds. Besides this and my mind being a bit more calm, though, nothing seems to have changed. I'm afraid to start working because I don't want to find out later that this isn't in a deep enough state.

I also plan to first, before anything else, "greet" my tulpa in something like a wonderland (except it'll be an empty space). Even I haven't even begun on it, I was thinking that it would help if I let my "tulpa" (or subconscious, since the tulpa hasn't even been started yet) know that I'm planning to create it.

Let me know if this is too confusing, some days I'm just not good explaining things.

You don't have to be in a "deep state" to work on your tulpa. I never was, I don't even know how to meditate properly. You don't have to feel especially relaxed or anything. That's why I avoided the word meditation as much as possible.

Greeting your tulpa is fine, and talking to it occasionally (not full out narration, but you know, a thought here and there) is fine. It'll help your mind get into the "groove" of talking to something that isn't yourself.

O-Oh. I wonder why I was under the impression that it was important, then. Do you think it would help to be in a "deep state", for future reference?

I'm not sure, like I said, I'm no meditation guru. Not being in a deep state isn't detrimental to the purpose at all, though, and I'm sure being in a deep state wouldn't do much but block out external stimuli more and more, making it easier to concentrate. I'm far too energetic to be able to get to that point, and if it isn't coming easily to you, than don't waste your time. That's my sentiment.

I find it useful to at least be in a semi-relaxed state, but mostly because it makes visualization work better for me. For personality, it seemed to let me feel the emotion or trait I was describing, until I realized I can do that pretty well just sitting down and closing my eyes.

The relaxed state comes naturally to me as I tulpaforce, especially when listening to an isochronic tone to help induce this state of high visual suggestiveness. I won't shove it, so I'm just gonna hope our guest here chooses wisely... unless he deliberately asks for a link.

Another tip I have is that if you're sitting down, you should move as little as possible. Moving your limbs makes you aware. This can easily break up concentration and cause you to spend some seconds trying to refocus.

How do you stop yourself from going into sleep paralysis if you meditate laying down like i do? It hasn't happened to me but i sometimes ponder at the idea. I usually try and meditate if I'm going to active force.
