Creating a Tulpa after killing off a previous Tulpa

Recommended Posts

So, a while ago, I had a tulpa named David. I won't go into details, but we were REALLY great friends. One day, though, things got complicated in the real world and I had to "kill" him. It didn't feel like killing him though. The floor just kind of shattered and fell into a light-grey abyss. Well, it's been almost a year and I want to create a new Tulpa. It's just been really hard though, because it just keeps reminding me of David and that makes it hard to create a whole new tulpa. Any suggestions?

okay well, he's joking about the ritual stuff, but not about bringing back a (dissipated) tulpa that's been gone for a while. But that's only as symbolic as you want it to be, so if you wanted to do some kinda ritual I guess you could make one up?

tups exist as mind-people in the mind of the mind they're part of your brain. They don't really go away, at least not if you can still remember them, and it's hard to forget them. Dissipation is more of a symbolic + commitment to not paying attention to them anymore thing. That's the short and quick and not giant essay version. You can bring your tulpa back if you believe you can, basically

if you DID want a stupid amount of text on dissipation, there's this https://community.tulpa.info/thread-help-with-saying-goodbye?pid=163369#pid163369

but so much of it isn't even relevant anyways. It's about tulpa death and what they experience, but it covers the topic of them coming back... somewhere... if you want. Also idek what the first two paragraphs are don't bother reading those unless you want to, they're even less relevant probably

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal!

I can share my recent revival experience.

Some of my tulpas were put into cryo when my head was unsafe for them to be in.

Some of them were pretty bad when they came out after I stopped denying their existence. I just had to give them attention without judging them. Let them know I was there and i cared. But never lie to a traumatized tulpa. It will go horribly wrong. The truth will save your ass.

They eventually came out of the shadows, we got them fed and assembled. I've been piece by piece rebuilding our entire headscape.

Sophie: i'll do most of the posting as we're still working on getting back up and running.

Autumn:

Asuka:

i've more to come as i pull them out of cryo.(others may call it stasis)

Ideally, yes, you'd be performing the resurrection ritual above, but if you're going to "kill" a tulpa based on events that are apparently only transpiring in one day, maybe you should reevaluate if this sort of thing is for you. Assuming that you're serious.

It wasn't something that happened in one day, and I was pretty new to the whole thing.

Yeah, I'll echo what the posters above me have said: if you want David, it may be possible to bring him back. Not saying it will be, because a lot of it depends on the way your head works and what you believe to be possible. But yeah, I've seen headmates pop back in after being dormant for over a decade, so it's possible.

Here's the way I see it: a tulpa is basically built out of a ball of "stuff" that you associate with them... their personalities, form, experiences, voice, whatever. Those are the things you think of when you create a tulpa, and the trick of tulpamancy is to somehow give that ball of stuff "life." See, the thing is, that ball of stuff is still there. If you still remember your tulpa, you still know what goes into him. You still know what his personality is like, what memories he has, what he'd say in most situations. That's all still there. You just need to figure out how to breathe life into that ball of stuff again.

Not saying it'd be easy, nor that it's something you should do. Just that it's possible.

What strikes me about your description of his "death" is that it's really fast. Fully formed tulpas are rarely dissipated that easily. Then again, belief is a powerful thing here, so if you believe that is how your tulpa died, then it becomes self-fulfilling prophecy, yeah? One that you and your tulpa would both feel compelled to follow, because that's what you think was happening. But just like if you believe he's gone, believing he can come back can be just as powerful.

That said? If you're setting out to make a tulpa who is not like David... just go ahead and do that. Start making a new person, and throw a little focus into making sure they're distinctive from David... different personality and form, all that good stuff. No need to make them the exact opposite or anything, just build them to be a separate person. Yeah, the process will likely remind you of David, but this isn't David, and like raising a second child, you've gotta give them the same amount of love and attention you did your first. No fair trying to make them fit whatever mold the first kid set, you know? ;;)

Whichever way you go, feel free to keep asking questions. Just.. uh.. take Vos' post to heart, and first make sure what happened to David isn't likely to happen again, yeah? For both your sake and the sake of your tulpas, past and future.

It worked! It also looks like David was busy while I was gone, because now there's a school, a fountain, and another store. There used to be just a basketball court and a store where you can buy canned goods and stuff, and the rest of the buildings were just there for aesthetic. I've also been getting a lot of headaches and pulsing feeling... Is that bad or good?
