sushi: I had a therapy session today and opened up to my therapist a bit more about my tulpas including my hopes for possession. The reaction was pretty negative and I'm pretty sure she half-wanted to check me into a mental hospital.

Probably won't be telling others about tulpamancy after this.

Well that's a shame. You should tell her to read Jung. Or look into subselves. Or the Hearing Voices Movement. Honestly, I think a mental health professional reacting in this way just shows ignorance. I'd expect it from friends or family, but she should know better.
