i've saw some 4chan stuff (http://funnyjunk.com/channel/ponytime/Tulpa/peDLLcr/) and, im quite frightened about making my tulpa... y'know, i was going to make something like Bill Cipher

... yea im aware about the "dangers" of a character-based tulpa, specially because Bill is not a good character. anyway... this (the stuff on 4chan) can really happen? what if it do happen with me? what should i do?

sorry for my ignorance... im a beginner at all this... anyway, thanks pals

Keep in mind 4chan is like the most cancerous community online but the answer is kinda yes but kinda no. The tulpa taking over the body momentarily and killing you isn't technically killing yourself, its the tulpa killing you and ultimately committing suicide. As for a tulpa making you kill yourself I don't think so. I rogue tulpa might scream at you and tell you to do it but at that point you can just kill it and move on.

Now keep in mind the chances of a tulpa taking over the body for a moment while you're cutting steak for example and stabbing you through the heart is like... 0.0000001%. You'd have to be the biggest dick in the world to make it want to not only kill you, but kill itself as well. Assuming you're not someone who loves to watch people and animals get tortured you should be okay here.

The main danger of basing a tupper off of a character is that it's like placing an identity on a child. I used to kind of cringe at the whole comparison of tulpa to child but the more I read into things the more sense it makes. Imagine a typical asian household. GET GOOD GRADES, BECOME A DOCTOR OR A LAWYER. That's placing an identity on a child, and he/she feels the need to live up to it to make their parents happy. Most children are in this situation, we are expected to get good grades and go to college and blah blah to make our parents and society happy.

Well, many children try to live up to it and stop giving a sh*t. "F*** school and college I'm going to build a massive business and make this world my b***h".

Well tulpas may do the same. They will keep trying to live up to the identity until they say "f**k it" and decide for themselves what they want to be. But, like teenagers and what-not the tulpa may decide to continue pursuing the identity until the day of its death because of its desire to please its "parent".

Idk if you think this, but I did once and many others have. You'd assume a creator/creation bond would be the shizzle right? Wrong. It can be at first, but think of robots and AI's relationship with their creators. They don't give a single crap about the creator overtime. We were created by a higher intelligence obviously (in fact this is common scientific theory now because explaining creation any other way is flawed) which would be our "creator". But because we can't identify it most people don't give a shizzle about it.

When humans make tulpas, they make it have an appearance, a voice and other things humans can relate to but a tulpa can exist without those things. Plus modern tulpamancy seems to show more dangerous points than "older" tulpamancy practices.

So if you make this tulpa live up to this "Bill" character, if the tulpa wants to please you that bad because you shower it in care and affection then it will. It'll take on all the bad characteristics because in its mind, you wouldn't have slapped on that identity if you didn't want it. On the other hand, as the tupper gets a bit older it might realize how destructive this identity is and say "no" to it.

Making a tulpa is serious business.

Depending on your morality.

You could make Bill Cipher (who will just be a sentient creature trying to act like Bill Cipher) and once you're bored you can kill it off. Depends how you see tulpas. Vivid delusion? Artificial sentience? Legitimate sentience? If you see a tulpa like a child, obviously killing it off is wrong. If you see a tulpa like a vivid delusion, then killing it off has no problems whatsoever.

To me, tulpamancy is moralmancy. You can use symbolism to bind tulpas (essentially make them sentient slaves. they'll hate you to your core but that doesn't mean you can't do it), you can play around with them and then end their existence, or you could make it a life-long commitment.

I'd examine your morals before your endeavor. Tulpa's can only take momentary control of the body once more developed, so you can make your character and kill it off before that time (some tupps develop really fast, others really slow. I can't give you a timescale).

If you're going to make a tulpa and slap an identity on it, at least make it a good identity. It really is like trying to place a bad identity on a child. Or don't give it an identity at all and let it choose what it wants based on its own nature. That's all we humans ask for as children, and tulpas appear to feel the same.

TL;DR

Don't do shizzle to make your tulpa go rogue and it won't kill you and itself. Can it though? Yeah sure, but I doubt its ever happened to(but that doesn't mean it hasn't). Don't place any identity on the tulpa, it'll try to live up to it or deviate from it. It's best to let it choose for itself

Pretty much agree with everything said except that part which is (obviously) absolutely and completely wrong. Intelligent design is NOT a common scientific theory.

You're as likely to die from making a tulpa as you are from making a friend. Not likely unless something is very messed up.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

It must be possible for a tulpa to be able to kill you. But this is a remote possibility. Also, they wouldn't be making you kill yourself. They'd be killing both of you. Or just you.

Personally, who would trust anything you read on 4chan?

Quantum science

Dood. Don't make me spit out my milk laughing. Quantum science is unrelated to intelligent design.

I agree with everyone here except when it comes to creating a Tulpa based off of a character. All of my Tulpas started off as characters from other sources. To be honest it makes things easier when you start somewhere like that. On the orher hand I hated the idea of anything being a complete copy when it came to my Tulpas. So even though all my Tulpas began from art work or stories I read I did not expect them to be anything like what they were based off of if that makes sense.

.

In fact the only Tulpa I have that did is Alex my shape shifter. His main form is a Lizard, but he has an obsession with Discord from My little pony. He has some differences, but for the most part its as if he is a copy of that character. I cant exactly make him be more creative for obvios reasons, but this does prove that Tulpas can have their own will seperate from their host.

.

Lastly I do want to point out that Tulpas can't do any more harm than you let them. One of my Tulpas refused to leave and she wants to kill my other Tulpas. After a couple of years of her being around I think she finally figured out she can't do permanent harm to me or my Tulpas. She has been getting her booty kicked a lot lately by one of my other Tulpas which is kind of funny to think about, but if I can protect my mind from a Tulpas influence then so can you.
