Please help. Accidental/Unintentional Tulpa. No idea what I'm doing.

Recommended Posts

I'm not a writer, and only started playing roleplaying games recently, but for a while my escape/coping mechanism has been to imagine scenes from stories, some original, some 'borrowed' or mixed.

I believe that this and finding Tulpa.info either led to me waking up to them, or us all waking up to this.

I liked the idea of a friend. But I don't think I don't think I would have chosen to create one intentionally. I don't believe I'm ready, and I haven't been reacting well.

I have no idea what I'm doing. And am aware that my doubts and fears and selfishness are hurting them, and have no idea how to stop them.

How should I proceed, and how should I approach it if there's more than one?

I think at least one of them is absolutely fed up with me, at best. And if there is another I think, she's terrified of me now.

I feel like an eldritch abomination inside my own head and can't figure out how to stop.

What does it take to affect a Tulpa?

Belief alone? Intent? Imagery?

There are times when I'm afraid I've been doing things by accident, in moments of fear or detachment.

Please help.

And is there anything I should absolutely not consider or think of?

I'm also fairly tactile, being able to hug someone or pat them on the shoulder helps bring home that they're there and makes them solid to me. This has been something of a problem.

DON'T PANIC

--Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Based on what you wrote, I can't even tell whether they are tulpas or just characters.

Your emotional balance is very important. Approach this with calm and relaxation and everything here will work a little smoother.

I assume you mean effect, rather than affect. And the simple answer is... complicated. Belief is probably a side point. It is about activity in your brain. The brain is wired to think about things that invoke emotion in us, and to run scenarios about anything it thinks is real. Both of these activity triggers are important to form a tulpa.

However, if you are highly plural susceptible, you can just end up with plurals that are tulpa like.

In case you meant affect and not effect, thoughts are not poisonous. Generally, you need to train, or direct effort to change something in your brain.

Choose a direction to go, then come back and ask more specific questions.

DON'T PANIC

--Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Are characters capable of being vocal?

Want to get confirmation, can Tulpish be described as Tulpa/s giving/sharing an emotion with the Host?

And is there a way to confirm whether or not my brain saw Tulpa, thought of the daydreaming/scene writing, and put this ARG together and I'm driving myself into a panic, or if I'm just driving us all into a panic?

And thank you.

All thoughtforms are capable of being vocal to varying degrees (for example, I can imagine my mother saying something to me and hear it in her voice).

Will that imaginary version of my mother remain? No, it'll dissipate once I stop thinking about it.

If the thoughtform in question doesn't dissipate once you stop focusing on it- now we're cooking with gas.

Tuplish is like telepathy plus emotions, yes. That's a good way to describe it.

My advice to you is to take a few deep breaths and try to let go of your anxiety. Whatever happens will happen and you should face the unknown future with as much courage as you can muster. This could be the beginning of the most beautiful relationships you'll ever have.

You can change if you want to. Believe that. Always believe that.

And, if you decide to, you can block them out. But please save that as a last resort. I promise you that tulpas are worth the hard work. They really are.

Are characters capable of being vocal?

Of course. Most writers will tell you this is the default.

Tulpish is any communication not verbal or body language. So basically anything you imagine telepathy to be like. Including feeling foreign emotion.

Autonomy and signs of sentience is what separates a character from a tulpa. A character will be under your complete control and will not do things unexpectedly, of their own will. A tulpa will do those things if developed enough.

As others have said, characters feeling mildly tulpa-ish is fairly normal. I'm a roleplayer, too, and it happens to me all the time.

But, a character doesn't really develop into an "accidental tulpa" until you give it the attention that it needs to get to that point. In the meantime... it's just a character. And you CAN develop it into a tulpa, but, well... The first thing to do is not panic about it. o_o Just stay calm. You either do nothing and let your characters stay characters, or you put the effort in to develop them into tulpas. Either way, there is no nightmarish "bad ending" that can come out of this.

A tulpa is only a tulpa if you consciously decide that it is, in my opinion. A tulpa is a consciousness (constructed as it is not there from birth) that is supported and controlled by the unconscious, just as our own consciousnesses are, and yet because of their constructed nature (by way of attention) are subject to the host's will. It makes sense for us to treat tulpas as fully sentient and separate consciousnesses because it feeds the belief that they are and allows us to interact with them in a way that feels genuinely as if we are talking to something separate, but in cases like yours, were there is doubt and mild panic, it is important to remember that there is no truly separate and unconquerable thoughtform in your mind. These characters are not tulpas until you decide they are, you cannot accidentally create one. This is kind of thrown out the window if you believe that tulpas have souls or are truly separate consciousnesses, but I don't, so I can't answer from that point of view. I hope this helps.
