I just noticed that links in posts now seem to open in a new tab/window. In HTML-speak, the a tags have the attribute target="_blank". I don't know if this is desirable or not, but I find it a little annoying. I already have enough tabs, and if I wanted a new one I'd have middle-clicked the link.

I am not sure if this is something I can change directly or would need to ask Pleeb to do. But unless there's a technical reason it should be one way or the other, I think it should be whichever way most people want it to be.

What do people think? Feature or annoyance?

Anera: anime-style girl, ~12; Lyra made her

I tend to agree that if I wanted a new tab, I would have done so myself.

Besides, worst-case scenario, you have to press the back button.

I'm not going to actually vote myself, because it won't matter to me in a bit, and I'd hate to be part of taking it away, for the members who like it.

"If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."

Don't care enough to vote, if I want to open something in the same tab, I left click it. If I want to open it in a new tab, I middle click. I don't see a reason for them both to do the same thing.

fun fact: click the link with the scroll wheel and it opens it in a new tab

I don't have a scroll wheel or any other mouse 3.

Hold down the ctrl key when clicking on the link, or right click -> open link in new tab

Thanks, this makes my purely platonic research a whole lot easier.
