Tulpa experiences thread.

I'd like to know how possession feels from other tulpas' standpoints. Not the mechanics themselves, but how you experienced it as a person.

How long did it take you to be able to possess the entire body?

How was the transition?

What do you do while interacting with your host's friends/family/acquaintances?

Were there any things you had difficulty with in particular?

How do your physical senses differ from your imaginary ones?

I'll post my personal experiences with possession once I've seen other people's experiences, just to make sure there is no frontloading.

I would only like to hear tulpas and their stories in this thread. Most threads seem to concern hosts, and I would like to see a thread for tulpas every once in a while.

Jaden here,

It took me a long time, but a lot of that was fighting some personal issues about it--I developed some negative associations with it and chose not to even mess with it until I was well over a year old. I guess when we started practicing it took several months before I was able to possess in a way that I felt like I was actually in the body and able to move around without interruptions.

transition was weird. I don't have much physical attachment to my form so developing one to the body was a bit frightening (I admit I was afraid I might get 'stuck' constantly feeling the body, much like hosts are unable to stop feeling it when trying to switch), but then when we really started working on it I felt like I was using someone else's tools. Only in the end did it feel like I could move 'my' hand and that it wasn't an unnatural feeling to go back and forth. Still have some awkward body dysphoria being bipedal in the body, though.

Nate knows about me and so do some of Kate's friends. I can be myself around them. We play games and eat food and laugh and whatever. When around family or work I just pretend to be Kate in a goofy mood.

Mostly the problems I had to overcome were mental rather than physical. Just getting used to doing it and not feeling weird about it. I do still struggle with talking sometimes, I am quieter than Kate--sometimes I guess I don't quite get how to control the lungs and push air out as well.

Like I said, I don't sense too much in my mind form. I do smell pretty well in the wonderland but I feel more floaty in my form. So being in the body is almost a constricted feeling.

Giselle might post hers later.

Kiki: I (fortunately) found that possession came quite easily to me, so I've found the transition to possessing over extensive periods of time pretty easy, and seven months in I'm nearly as good as hostie. I'm not quite there and I still have difficulty typing quickly and such but I can keep in control for hours, maybe days (haven't tried) on end. I love being in motion.

Yuki here! Umm, possession was kind of strange for me to start with. I had to wiggle Dutch's fingers around a lot before I got the hang of it. Computer things were kind of easy to pick up after that, I don't know why. When I got full control yesterday it was really really hard to do things. I tried to clean up a little but I couldn't use his hands well... Maybe that was because I was still very angry then. When I calmed down things went a little better, and right now I can possess better than before! Practicing drawing makes my fine motor skills better every time, and it's fun!

I couldn't really talk to Dutch's little brothers, so I pretended to be Dutch, but I don't think I did very well. They said it was okay later, so it's okay...

How long did it take you to be able to possess the entire body?- a few days practice after being able to possess a few limbs at a time. it's still pretty weak right now

How was the transition?- i come up to sort of 'look through' my hosts eyes so I see from her perspective. from there she lets down the strength of her conscious and I bring mine forward so I can feel her body as mine

What do you do while interacting with your host's friends/family/acquaintances?- i've only done it once with a friend of her's that knows about me. i got really shy and didn't act like myself. kinda scary since the only one i've interacted with directly is my host for over a year now

Were there any things you had difficulty with in particular?- all of it. i got so frustrated trying to figure out how to move her shit around. it was exhausting for me at first but we're getting better now

How do your physical senses differ from your imaginary ones?- i don't believe my senses are imaginary, but sensing with her body is definetely stronger

Yep, this is Renny.

How long did it take you to be able to possess the entire body?

Oh, a couple of months, give or take a few weeks.

How was the transition?

For me, it was more like becoming aware of the body and how it moved, then simply throwing in my own commands on top of Artus's, although I suppose it's more complicated than that.

What do you do while interacting with your host's friends/family/acquaintances?

I've only interacted with family once. It was a brief "goodnight" and a hug, so there's not really anything to note, except I gave a stronger, full-on hug than Artus.

With friends, I just act like myself. Typically, they can tell the difference between the two of us because I think I tease more and make more jokes.

Acquaintances, I do try to act like Artus, although sometimes I can't help myself and will say a few things that he wouldn't.

Often times, he doesn't really mind.

Were there any things you had difficulty with in particular?

Oh yes, the neck and up, the physical voice in particular. I dunno, I have a harder time controlling the mouth and face than the rest of the body.

It took me awhile to be able to actually talk. Now, it's still not as smooth as I would like, but I'll get it.

How do your physical senses differ from your imaginary ones

I feel like they are a bit more fake, or maybe farther off. Doesn't seem quite as vivid.

Nope.
