~QB~

QB2

Recommended Posts

I originally saw no purpose to making a thread like this, as QB's been 'finished' for months and doesn't talk much about being a tulpa anymore - he's kinda just my roommate. It would be nice to get all the random things I want to say about him out on one page, though... so here I am.

And here he is.

Based on the manga version of the Madoka Magica character Kyubey, QB evolved into a fun-loving cheshire cat wannabe with a strong sense of self and determination. When he isn't napping, he enjoys listening to music, performing acrobatics on ceiling fans, and getting me out of the house so we can go running together.

His current tumblr for "updates" like what you'll find in this thread is http://qbtulpa.tumblr.com/

Details of note

His fur is not pure white, but rather a very, very light shade of pink. It ruffles in a typical "fluffy animated creature" way.

His eyes are red.

His teeth are retractable - he's usually toothless, but when they're needed, a set of razor sharp triangular incisors fitting for a shark slide into place. Which is kind of useless, since he doesn't really eat. He usually just uses them to look scary.

The appendages below his ears (we call them his tentacles) are fully under his control, and are used as his arms/hands, the bits at the end being his fingers. They can infinitely extend and have insane agility and precision, a la Ika Musume, but they usually stay 'normal' looking. The gold rings suspended around them are engraved with gibberish symbols, and glow under the right stimuli - usually either when he is feeling something with serious passion, or when he's doing something mind-related such as talking to me with things other than words.

He sleeps in catnaps.

"He" is just a word I use for him - he has no gender in any sense, even his voice is more or less androgynous.

He has no internal organs - he's squishy all the way through, one solid mass with the only hole or opening of any sort being his mouth. The only part of him that does not follow this rules is his rings - they are both solid, unbendable metal. (Oh, and his teeth, but they only come out on occasion so they barely count.)

He doesn't eat or drink, he finds it gross.

I'm kind of happy to see a quadruped tulpa that didn't evolve into a furry immediately after becoming sentient. I was starting to wonder what my tulpa would end up looking like if that were to happen.

QB, you are pretty cute!

>Chesire Cat tulpa

Mmmmmyes...excellent. A Chesire Cat-esque tulpa sounds rather fun.

It does! All cats seem to have at least a bit of that cheshire sort of feeling about them, especially when they can speak. A lot of his movements and such were based on my cats, and he watched a litter of kittens grow up as he developed, so he's got a lot of cattiness to him.

We'd considered a human form for him, but he likes being himself, and we never really got around to giving the idea much thought anyway.

And he says "Thank you!"

So cute! How do you visualize him? Realism or more cartoonish?

Kind of a mix. He is much more realistic than any cartoon character I've ever seen, but as is noticeable in a few places, he's still sort of "drawn with lines".

Also, interestingly enough, when injured he receives Anime Damage. You know, when you have the lights knocked out of you but your body's 100% fine except for a bunch of rough shading marks all over you that wear off with rest.

>give QB control of my voice for the first time

>he does the classic *high* "hello!" *low* "HELLO!" and clicks my teeth together like castanets

I felt like The Doctor after regeneration, it was hilarious.

He's noted that "My voice just goes on and off, yours has all sorts of settings!"

All sorts of settings you say? Does it have, perhaps, a Norio Wakamoto setting?

Something along the lines of...

I don't think the world would be ready for that.

QB and I have recently been playing with 2D imposition! Putting him in video games and computer screens as an actual environment. And it's gone very well so far. He's yet to try non-screen objects like paper/blackboards/wallpaper/whatever, but as far as screens go, he's got this stuff down.

I made a short post on the subject at http://qbtulpa.tumblr.com/ , our new blog. The original is for archival purposes. Not that I use them particularly often... I try to keep most of my stuff here.
