Recent Downtime

As many of you have noticed, the forums were down for the last 24+ hours, and the rest of the site was down for the majority of that time too. Everything is now running smoothly again. The downtime was caused by a lack of storage capacity on the server Tulpa.info runs on. Normally, the website host adds hard drives to increase the storage capacity before it maxes out, but this didn't happen this time for one reason or another.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the downtime and we will do as much as we can to ensure that this doesn't happen again.

P.S. Certain user(s) claimed to have orchestrated a DDoS attack which caused this. They lied.

A few days ago, another period of downtime occurred, and it appears that the hosting company restored data which was 3 days old, to our hosting account. This is the reason why many posts leading up to the downtime were lost. While we could blame the host for restoring an old backup, ultimately it's our own fault that the data was lost. If we had a better backup scheme in place, we would have been able to restore almost all of the data, and we are now in the process of revising our backup scheme to ensure that data loss on this scale doesn't happen again.

We sincerely apologize again for the inconvenience caused, and we apologize for all problems which are a result of the data loss.
