Request for Ideas for Creating a Tulpa e-Book

Recommended Posts

I felt putting the thread here might be better than General Discussion, since it's just a question for ideas and suggestions on topics rather than an actual discussion. But if it needs to be moved somewhere else, please do so, thank you.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to make this thread to get suggestions to everyone on possible topics I could talk about. There was another thread where users felt that other users should give their opinions in some kind of tulpa book of their own.

I have general ideas of what I want to get out of the e-book, but I can't possibly know all the concerns and concepts people have in their minds; I don't have eyes behind my head, so what better way to know what makes people concerned than asking the community itself? So I would like for anyone to give me a list of things they feel could be talked about in the guide, or sort of a massive upgrade of the basic motivation guide I made here:

http://community.tulpa.info/thread-linkzelda-s-motivational-tulpa-guide

Most of the ideas I covered in that guide was based on what I learned by glancing over on things that hit people pretty hard when starting out with tulpaforcing, but I feel that the things I've learned, there's more I would like to give my perspective on. And I feel this could be a good way for other people who have the same intention in mind to get ideas rolling around of what they could do.

Anyway, feel free.

Just make a simple

- topic a

- topic b

- topic c

- topic d

- topic e

- topic f

and so on (and maybe rank them on their level of importance to you)

Whether it's on Changing Your Perspective Before Tulpa Death, Parroting, Getting Over the Insanity Barrier, Independence, etc.

EDIT:

Also, if people have similar topics they felt should be emphasized on, that's a good thing, so don't worry if someone had your topic already listed, go ahead and do it as well, but do try to add something unique at least.

How does one use people's ideas/possibly take things from the other guides without plagiarizing them? A community book created through brainstorming could be a solution.

There was some talk of such, including a guild launch site as a central resource for anyone interested in assisting in the project. However, people criticized the idea because the knowledge of the community is still evolving and there was not yet a general concensus of the best methods.

No, this isn't a guide on how to tulpaforce, visualize, this is a guide aiming for covering concerns or concepts people have difficulties with. It's not about mechanics behind possessions, switching, vocalization, or anything like that. There's no need for me to make a guide when there's already guides made on tulpa-related tasks, especially in the hypnosis guide I made.

And as for the intention of making an e-book on it, I don't expect it to be something that can't be updated in time, it's merely just me providing one perspective over things people worry and try to overcome with. It's essentially like a FAQ on things that are really common , but also providing motivation for users to find solace in the reasons they do it in the first place (It won't be set up like a FAQ though). Again, I don't expect my intention of making it to be final, it's just an attempt to gather concepts and lessons I've learned.

So it's not plagiarism if topics are being discussed in my own words. It's plagiarism if I steal the person's explanations and interpretations of those topics that's concerning. Which is why I just asked for topics, not a discussion itself. I have a pretty good idea of what I want to talk about, but I'm just using this thread to make sure that I can get general topics covered as well if needed.

As for a central FAQ or central guide, I agree that's going to have to be a progressive thing, and I'm not aiming for this to be the totality of other guides. It's just to motivate people to give their own perspective. The point with any forum is to provide solutions, but in order for people to get what a person stands for, or their belief system, I feel it's best to give them general topics for them to think about and provide their own opinions.

---

It's pretty inconsistent with how rampant the Questions and Answers go with similar threads all the time, and although we should treat newcomers or anyone with an empathetic heart as much as we can, people showing some attempt to give their opinions, and eventually making a collection (similar to the Big List of Guides thread) at least shows some progress in re-evaluating what the community stands for, one person at a time.

Alright, I was almost afraid that my plans for becoming known as the Grandmaster Pioneer Tulpamancer with the help of my own all-encompassing handbook draft were about to be thwarted.

That's what I felt you were afraid of, even if you were decorating it with jest. Anyway, anyone would want to be a pioneer or the one that sets the forces in motion for something like this. But if that's all that person is after, just being acknowledged, that itself is a huge sign of a person not being confident in stating their beliefs.

It's kind of sad really that people are more concerned about, "But, I want to do this before anyone else does! I want to validate my importance to this community and become a tulpamancer celebrity!"

Maybe we all want acceptance, but gosh, don't admit it all at once. :P

People who give you that label as "the noob who posts a lot sometimes and spouts senseless bullcrap," are just insecure that you're actually trying to show your thoughts to them. There's nothing wrong in seeing how you personally think, and the fact that people call you a noob for trying to be competent is a reflection of their ability to even have a decent bonding with their tulpa (if they can't even take your ideas with a grain of salt instead of using condescending statements, I doubt they could be more empathetic and compassionate to their own tulpae).

I guess that's the Internet for you, they want short, concise topics, and yet still somehow ask more questions when they should've taken more time to think for themselves before asking others. *shrugs*

If a person can have a good idea about what they think about all sorts of aspects in these things, and it actually is special and meaningful to them, you're going to get nasty looks from them at some point. To me, I think you're a sensible guy just trying to do his best, nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

Anyway,

Yeah, most of my posts are just filler and people want the core ideas, and honestly, it's mostly a fusion of Eva and my own beliefs that makes it so easy to make those tl ; dr in the first place. As for the topics and suggestions you gave me, thank you very much for your input, and I look forward for more suggestions from you and others. :)

And thanks for the comment in relation to my posts as well.

I have been thinking that it's about time we wrote something down on paper or in a document of some kind. Our theories are currently refined enough that they aren't going to change much without some proper research studies being done, and having an introductory paper or FAQ of some kind would be a useful tool for spreading awareness of the phenomenon.

(I think that when writing something like this, the end result is more important than the method. So the bulk of each topic should place importance on what the tulpamancer should be looking for. Sometimes it's easier to ask an artist to draw a bowl of fruit than it is to ask them to draw curves and lines step by step.)

Here are some main points:

(In no particular order)

1. Personality - Discusses the basics of personality (ie what the personality does for the tulpa, and how it adds complexity to the entity as a whole)

2. Independence - Discusses why it's important, what it achieves, and how it can be built as early as possible

3. Form - Discusses why it's desirable, what purpose it serves, and how it shapes the personality sometimes

4 Voice - Discusses why it makes communication easier, and how it shapes the personality

5 - Imposition - Imposition could have sub topics for each type of imposition, and the advantages each bring.

- Auditory

- Visual

- Olfactory

- Touch

6 - Possession and switching - Discusses general advantages, why it's desirable, etc.

This is a very rough outline, but I hope it generates some ideas.

How does one get a brain-scan for the sake of research? Can you just walk into a hospital and say:

"Hey guys, I'm curious about something going on in my head, can I get a scan and look at what's going on? Just for curiosities sake and all."

...

or...what?

Any research study I ran would probably be a privately funded venture, and running tests with an fMRI machine or similar technology is extremely expensive. Probably at first it'd be something relatively cheap like testing the effects of antipsychotics on tulpaforcers vs. non-forcers, or comparing the cognitive capabilities of these two groups.

It also depends pretty largely on where you live and what kind of connections you have with people.

I think aside from the costs, gathering subjects might be the hardest part.
